| What is actualy uplifting trance? |

Uplifting trance is usually around 140bpm-145bpm (?), it has lots of big rifts, creating the general "uplifting" feel, coupled with heavy basslines. If there are vocals, 99% of the time, it's going to be a woman. Also, uplifting and euro trance (cheese) are pretty closely related, so some of the tracks that some might call uplifting, will be called cheese by others. (at least that's my experience). This form of trance definatly falls into the instant feel good category - for many tranceheads, this is how it all started...:D

Think Tiesto Trance Energy 2000. That is was the pinacle of uplifting trance with that set right there...:eyes:
Trance has changed...for the better. You can only take so many trips up to the sky...haha |

Yes, I'm all for diversity.
Adjectives like "uplifting", "euphoric", "ecstatic" and soforth are fun though. Although I've seen some that consider even Happy Hardcore to not be positive enough ;)
Ferry Corsten has set more than a few important benchmarks in popularizing the sound. But yes, as was mentioned here, he has moved his train to the next station in search of new adventures. |

| Uplifting is a silly qualifier when it comes to genre names. I don't believe in the term "uplifting trance". Any music can be uplifting. The word means nothing descriptively. The genre usually misnamed in this fashion is melodic trance, so named because the focus is on the melody. Melodic trance can be uplifting or not, depending on what the producer was trying to achieve. |

MUST BUY ---Teisto CONCERT DVD ( If you can get the entire concert the better) this will expose you to old and new. Beware the lattter part of the concert has alot of funky hard beats. Fun watch and listen . Get it at amazon.com
Armin Van Buuren LISTEN TO ALL OF HIS MIX CDS This guy is the king here since he never really deviate from the style.
Ferry Corsten has always been a blend of many styles. But good though.
Paul Van Dyk Nothing But You is an excellent example.
A simple definition is : a song which creates a feeling of extacy or happinnss. The song makes listeners feel as if they are traveling through the air ( hence dj's and trance heads lift up their hands when the "big break down " occurs) . Perfect example would be Tiesto's In Memory song. You know its good uplifting trance when get goosebumps or get a "tingly" feeling running across your body making you just wanting to dance and/or jump around. People who have never heard of this music might say " this is all something that someone feels if they are on drugs" But I and many other will testify that the music and just the music have made me and many otehrs feel this same way. 100% pure trance and thats all. Just listen to the music and let your body and mind feel and hear the beauty of the piece of art work. To really get this feeling try to listen to every note and every subtle change .
Also listen to Endre - Kallocain . Very beautiful peice. |

| Uplifting is more like from 135bpm to like 145 max (from my experence anyway) even in my experence its usally 137-140 alot of it seems to b around 139ish :) |
