i think one of the most crucial factors in keeping a solid relationship is never discussing past lovers or relationships. what's the point?? i mean i know a LITTLE bit about my bf's ex's...nothing too in depth, and personally, i could care less. he's with me now. if you are questioning whether or not your significant other might have an std, then maybe you shouldn't be with someone like that. or, if you really like him/her and maybe they just made a bad choice, then both of you go get tested...simple.
but seriously, i have never asked my boyfriend how many ppl he has slept with and he has never asked me either....it's just a rude question and really no body's business. and for those of you who say 30 or more...do you honestly count? lol |

i just meant that its an important peice of information that i think someone should willingly disclose before you're intimate with them. STD's are waaaaay too prevelant in today's society to not ask. and i would hope that whoever i'm dating would also want to know that about me.
i didn't mean you have to dig out and relive their past relationships... |

I would agree 100%. If someone you are going to be in a relationship with / intimate with has an STD they better damn well let you know beforehand. |

| i dunno, i would just say use lots of protection until you reach that point in your relationship where she is gonna use birthcontrol and u are going to say the hell with condoms...i wouldn't be like, "hey how many people have you been with"?? u should just ask them if they think they have anythign to be worried about...and then the two of you go get tested anyway. i would hope that when u get serious, you can trust each other...if she's had unprotected sex and you ask her the question (about being worried), she should tell you yes or no, but no details is all i'm saying. |

| I guess I just have a strong opinion because I slept with a girl and asked her if we needed to use protection and she said no, only to find out later she was dirty. Thank that happened after me though, or else I would've been really pissed. |

well...condoms isn't gonna stop some stuff. i just think if you're at a level where you are sleeping with someone that both of you would just want to be safe about it. you don't have to ask if they slept with "x" number of people, but like you said...ask if there anything you should know before you do the deed. i don't think waiting until birthcontrol for that question is enough...it needs to be before you have any kind of oral/intercourse. |
