Computer Ram for Music Production

I need some little help here. I would like to know how much can the ram improve when im doing the music production.

Im having Pen IV 2.43Ghz and currently holding Kingston Ram PC2100 DDR512. I intend to get 2 more of that as it can hold up till 3DIMM.

But I heard that PC3200 DDR512 400mhz are better. But my motherboard can only hold up for 2 Ram of that.

So which will be better for me to choose and buy 2 more PC2100 ram or 2 new PC3200?

Im kinda confused which can I get be better to improve my computer on productions. Any helps?

If your p4 2.43 ghz only has a 500mhz fsb, it's not only pointless, but I think incompatible with DDR3200 ram. (what kind of motherboard do you have?)

The other thing is that from my experience, the amount of RAM you have doesn't play a huge part in performance. Even 512Mb of pc 133 SD Ram is enough for production(if your track only consists of samples of course). Your CPU is a much more important factor, as it decideds how many VSTI's it can run before it s itself

Final thought: Don't go too overboard with ram. Invest in a better CPU.(Even tho your P4 is more then fiine for production.)
