For those of you who saw the 'comedy' pictures of the bear my girlfriend gave me and the pictures of it I take on my travels here are a few more.
In the British Airways Business Class lounge at London Heathrow

And on board enjoying the ottoman after a few glasses of champagne!

An amazing view of San Francisco and the Bay area upon approach to Sa Francisco airport

My girlfriend and I on Alcatraz

In the British Airways San Francisco Buiness Class lounge for the flight home

Who said airline food was bad? :p

And for those of you wondering why I am taking photos of airline food and lounges I also write for a travel website for a bit of fun! |

our airline food is always on a plastic tray, all daytime meals are chewey chicken in a horrid sauce with soggy veg, a cheesecake or yoghurt pudding and tea made in pots holding about 5 litres, using about 2 teabags for the whole amount :stongue:

Envious? of me? It's not as great as it sounds. I merely fly all over the world chasing my girlfriend! She was living and studying in Virginia up until her graduation in May but has just moved to the Bay area in hope of getting work. My travels are basically flying out to see her whenever I can. In April back when I booked this I wasn't sure if she was going to be living in San Francisco so booked a long enough break to keep myself occupied if I was going to be alone. Fortunately she was in town and so we had a very brief if not an awesome trip together.
As for the flights well if I am flying 5000 miles for a 5 day vacation I don't want to be feeling ty, cramped and jetlagged for half of that time only to fly home and get the same story. The personal space (6ft flat bed) is what I am ponying up for and as a result I suffered no jet lag either way and stepped into work the day after arriving home. All the extra bits like lounges, free massages at the airport :p , unlimited wine/champagne/booze/beer , decent food, no waiting in line to board or check-in, sneering at coach passengers ;) etc etc are all to keep the businessmen happy whose companies are paying in the region of £4000 for the ticket. Thankfully I wasn't paying that much but business class doesn't come cheap :( |

Just the wrong side of £2000.
Business people often fly on flexible tickets so they can change the flights they are on for free, as a result this costs almost double the cheapest fare for the cabin you fly in. I don't need flexibility as a leisure traveller so pay the cheaper non-flexible price.
Example. British Airways cheapest coach ticket with no changes whatsoever LHR-JFK can be as low as £199 inc tax. However fully flexible tickets can be over £1000 on the same route. Sometimes a non-flexible ticket in business class can cost less than a flexible economy! |
