I think most people aren't used to hearing an emphasis on rhythm over melody when it comes to trance, which is probably why it's getting such mixed reviews.

That's a good point. I happen to enjoy the more techy stuff that Armin has been playing on ASOT, like the Remy and Roland Klinkenberg tracks. It's a nice break from all of the "epic" kind of trance that is starting to sound all too similar to me.

You're hopeless too. The Legacy, Universal Nation, Trancy State Of Mind, Tranceformation, and every other track from his 1st album and most of his tracks on the 2nd were awesome. :whip:

Then of course there's Journey Of Life and the two dozen remixes that all sounded like The Legacy plus all the recent Push productions which have been all weak efforts, compared to say:

MIKE (Elements Of Life, Nightfall, Sunrise At Palamos, Someone Somewhere, Unlovable (MIKE MIX), Der Klang Der Familie (MIKE Mix), The 7th Day (MIKE Mix), Love Angel (MIKE Mix) etc.)

Liquid Overdose (Pure Glide, Opium, Fearsome Bass, Contact The 1st Rebirth (Liquid Overdose Remix), Ancient Space, T.E.B.S (Liquid Overdose Remix))

Return Of The Native (Future Slam, The Lost Tale, Persuasion, Morphosis, Dead Cities (Return Of The Native Remix), Aztec (Return Of The Native Remix)

and the list goes on. Push is by far one of MIKE's weakest and least versatile aliases. Ironically, Push is also one of the aliases where he has produced most of his classics.

Pound: Oh, it was going so, so good until about halfway. Then that twinkly melody came in. Still rather good, but could have been better.

yeah I agree, that melody ruined what could have been a great track

I like Intruder alot, but I wish it had a proper clap or snare instead of that snare hitting before the kick like in all "tiesto techno"

i don't understand why so many people on here have such little respect for two professional musician's work. yeah the tracks might not be huge song of the year releases, but the sounds in them are quality. creating songs with terrific sounds, good rhythm, and good engineering are extremely hard to create. you never hear any major producer on the trance addict forums trash any song. its about respect. you may not like it, that doesn't mean its a crappy song. use some listening skills and go past your first impressiona and try and look deeper into the song. they beautiy of electronic music is there is so much to it and i don't think many people take the time to relize what is actually there. anyways, thats my opinion.

I couldn't agree more. But you know what...the version i heard on ASOT 150 has a solid snare..hmmm, maybe that's an armin remix or re-work or something.

so true, sometimes we get so harsh in the critics without taking notice of what the producers worked to put together that little piece of crap
