This site is so huge and powerful (in terms of fans and members) that I guarantee, if it wasn't for TA and us talking about and sharing music, record sales (at least in the electronica genre) would be lower than what they are today - so the RIAA can kiss my ass. And if they do decide to go after Swamper just because some us here want to simply talk about file-sharing - which is NOT illegal - I'll fully fund Swamper's defence and fight those guys to the end, as I'm sure many, many other loyal TA's would be willing to do (well, whatever they can anyway :toocool: )
Ok that was off topic -back to you folks! :D |
file-sharing of copyrighted material is illegal in most countries.
we do talk about mp3s a bit if you notice, but we can't cross the line of posting download links or asking "WHERE DO I GET MP3ZZZZZ" |

I have to say that I like almost any genre of music. Every genre has songs that I like, and songs that I don't - including trance! All this stuff about people that hate certain genres makes me think that those people are narrow minded - I bet most people that like rock and hate electronic have never even tried listening to electronica.
Myself, I like anything from trance, to rock, chill-out, pop (well some...), r&b, d&b, house, classical... |

i respect all honest music. i don't want to attempt to explain to you what "honest music" means to me, but you can take a guess. music that is not honest warrants a word even as strong as "hate" for anyone passionate about music in general.
often people use hate just to differentiate what they like and everything that does not fit in. this i agree is mad! |

by the way, i would never go so far as to hate a "genre" (even if i hate all at the acts i know of that genre:) )
with ONE exception: COUNTRY MUSIC:whip: |

I listen to Stevie Wonder.. then i put on some Black Sabbath.. then I play some Deep Dish.. then i flip it to The Roots... then I play Led Zeppelin... then Sander K plays Sacred... after that I hear Kai Tracid.. and then Ray Charles... and then some Brother Ali....
and its like that every day.... |

| Wow i def got some interesting view points! I think the guy who mentioned eliteism had it on the money-its simply mankinds superiority complex in effect. It makes me sick really, its one thing to say to each their own ill listen to what i want, but who hasnt sat in their car bumping trance and had some ghetto suv on stereotypical gigantic chrome rims pull up bumping some recycled crap about "mah bling bling" and ho's and 22's and all that , only to look at them and have them sneer? Like theyre better than us? I cant stand that. At least my music is intelligent! Hip-hop has been killed by greed, and im thankful trance is still more or less underground here in the states. Its been my experience music dies when its not made by passionate people, and when you can make millions by having one lousy song hit the mainstream, you no longer see genuine productions, in any genre. Ive noticed the eliteism here as well, people LOVE to bash tiesto. Why? Im sure people think they have reasos, but do they really? Ive always loved his music, and anytime i have people in my car who dont know trance, if i play diff dj's they always like tiesto best. Ive seen him live every chance i had, and ive loved his performances every damn time. So why is it so trendy to knock him? Does that make you part of the in crowd or something? And its those sorts of things i cant stand. Music should join us, bring us together. How can someoen who likes rap knock electronic music? What is rap? Are the beats live drums? Think not! Rap is as electronic as anything else. It sickening. Oh yeah the secret societies dont exist to make the members feel superior, theyre there because they know things we dont, and for the most part, cant. Just my opinions of course, as always :) Long live tiesto!!!!!!! |

Ok explain. There are enough people on here that seem to feel the same way that i really want to know why you would say that. What he cant mix? Cant pick good tracks? Isnt a good producer? Doesnt do good live shows? Please someone explain this to me. EVery time ive seen him he has been the only dj of the night to spin on only vinyl, ive not once seen him spin on a cd or laptop. So where are you coming from? |

Are you insinuating that he's a better DJ because you've only seen him use vinyl? |

| i dont think using vinyl or cds makes the dj at all its the flow of the mix that makes a dj skillfulect. and i agree there is alot of hate in music but you cant all say you love all music cause i doubt u do, like me i dont like rap at all and i think metal is crap but everyone has there own views. |

That said i do miss the old days, TE2000 and magic 6 live on in infamy. Cmon tijs, play like you used to! |
