I noticed an interesting phenomenon - why do some live musicians cover up the names of the synths they are using? Here's an example of JMJ live performance (notice the kbd is covered up)

because it's top-secret!! :p
hey cheggy
Maybe because he doesn't want to endorse their products for free. Maybe because he doesn't want other people knowing what he uses, maybe because he stole it and he doesn't want the original owner to know he's got it.

I think it mostly has to do with the arrangers of the party...if the arrangers (f.ex. ID&T) hasn't got payed to show rolands and access logos then they won't get shown :)

Perhaps it's a Casio and he's really embarrased about it!

Actually, it's more likley to do with advertising

Manufacturers always use these sort of photos for advertising if you don't cover up the logos.

On the pioneer pro dj site they give you a prize for sending in a photo of a dj using pioneer equipment.

I suppose the other reason they do this is that the bright white lettering of the synths take away the musicians too, especially with UV light.

my question is.. what's with the big-ass light sabre behind him? hehehehe :p
