I don't know all this techincal like "40 whatever point AF", etc. I can barely work this S410 (come to think of it, I think the AiAF feature on it sucks, it can't focus properly on anything).
I know some basics, like F-stops and shutters speeds, and that's pretty much it.
So yea, getting one of those intensely 133t digital SLRs would be overkill, unless I learned all the stuff, by which point 15MP digital SLR cameras would be out, and at half the price of the current 8-11MP ones you're talking about.
But not buying a digital SLR now means I can't take 133t shots that I can picture in my head (no pun intended), but that the S410 can't allow due to its limits.
See my dilemma?
I do have a Canon EOS650 (first ever EOS camera, w00t), but it doesn't provide instant gratification or even a digital source so that I can photoshop my shots easily. |

Compact digis are almost more fun than DSLRs just because you can take them everywhere and shoot anything. I have a small Olympus point n shoot...and its awesome...I take it with me at almost every party..and event. Takin it to Dance Valley in about a week...couldn't see myself lugging a DSLR around there...not to mention the danger of some wasted fool smashing it or it getting stolen!
