Yes, I did. That's what my first post was about ;)

I just mentioned that other film when I started to compare LiT with some other films (and I didn't know the name of that one when I wrote that first posts, so daydreamer was kind and told me what the title was :)).

Oh well. I liked it :wtf:

Nice to know you enjoyed it. I just wanted to leave my feedback of the film so, those who are thinking of watching it and accidentally read this thread could check yet one more opinion :) The world would be quite boring if we all liked the same things, after all ;)

Besides, I had to vent, I was really annoyed after all those minutes I spent watching it.

Would a digital camera do the job? :)

:haha: You have crossed the line. Many people like this movie. I wouldn't be surprised if you get some insulting PMs. Good luck with that.

It is an excellent movie, but I think the soundtrack of the movie helped it a lot.

This is one of the best movies I have seen in quite awhile. I don't know why. I know alot of people thought it sucked. It doesn't really have a solid plot...but its just different. Alot of it is pure comedy with Murray...but the parts with Scarlett Johanson are more...deep? lol...its hard to describe. Anyway, I like the idea of being in some foreign metropolis and meeting new friends...

Good Movie imo...refreshing change.

Arn't you part Japanese?

absolutely one of my favorites. if youve travelled and met friends on the road the whole idea of "if only..." really enters in.

Touching, fun, sad. Makes you think.

I thought it was a good movie. It is a funny movie imo. My fav scene is when the chick wants him to rip here skirt.

I love this movie :D I find its subtlety so refreshing. It seems most movies these days are just so full on over the top and in your face. Not to mention the cinematography is stunning. There are a few scenes that are just so beautiful...and then balanced with such simple humor. Bull Murray's role is genious, and Scarlett is fantastic as well. I look forward to seeing more masterpieces by Sophia Coppola.

fantastic movie.

the direction through tone is astounding, as is the acting.

I believe someone mentioned conflicts... yes LiT is absent of a very focused plot-driven conflict, but without an immediate conflict to distract the audience, the great conflicts in our lives (Bill's mid-life crisis, or Scarlett's early-20s crisis) are brought to the forefront, allowing for some very powerful commentary on the human condition, and its absurdity.

The movie is brilliantly acted, obviously. The scenery is astonishing. Japan is perfect environment for these great conflicts to take place, because it itself (Japan) is in conflict, which is clearly depicted throughout the movie. There is definitely a contrast developed between the invading Western Culture and the true Japanese culture. This is the prevailing theme of the whole movie to me, and while it may seem very dark and melodramatic... it says something about how we as humans, depend on each other to face our conflicts.
