I don't even know if they understand what causes dry sockets, all I know is they hurt like hell. The procedure they used to cure mine went as follows:
a) Go to periodontist to have them checked
b) Stuff -tasting medicated gauze into the cavities with a sharp metal object that pokes your severely tender gums and makes you want to punch the technician in the face repeatedly.
c) Repeat this process for about a week.
It was great, really. |
yup that's exactly what i had to go through, except 3 more visits left. wheeeeee.....only 3 more visits :wtf:
the worst part is when the doctor constantly scratches pieces of your tooth out little by little with some cold metal object which basically pulls your whole head along the instrument. talk about ouch! |

| I have had all 4 removed. 2 at a time a couple of weeks apart. I had too many teeth for my jawline to hold. I have a small jawline so I had to get them all out or it would start shifting teeth. But it was all good cuz the doctor gave me good drugs. Try to get some oxycontin, Percaset, or Percodan. You will be out like a lite. |

I think im quite lucky. My dentist said i dont have any wisdom teeth, which is a bit weird i think. I did have 9 teeth out when i was younger though, bloody hurt for about a week and i had to live on soup and yoghurt.
Hope u can bare the pain! |

have had all 4 out!
the top ones developed perfectly fine, however the bottom ones developed in a way that they were pushing towards my teeth
The usual direction of the crowns is to go up , hoever, thye crowns on my bottom wisdom teeth were pointing like this = <-- (towards my mouth)
In the end it started to hurt quite a bit, and i had to have all four taken out. The procedure involved cutting throught the gums, and drilling through the teeth and splitting them into two before they could be removed.
Had one side taken out at a time, so that i could eat on the other side. I don't think i developed any swelling, and stuck religioudly to my regime of amoxycillin and mouthwash :toothless |

I've never been told, or even mentioned, by my dentist that I may have to take them out.
What made you guys have to take them out? |
my dentist and orthadontist,.. plus i could see my teeth in front being pushed around by those bastards in the back,... i was also an all 4 in one day type deal |

| i had my wisdom teeth out a couple years ago...i didn't have any problems so i guess i was lucky. i didn't even take any pain killers. i did have some nerve ends that remain somewhat exposed, but all that causes is just sensitivity to cold stuff sometimes... |
