Hi everyone. Listened to Johan Gielen's old Velvet moods today.
And now I wondering:

1. What kind of sound does it use to the main-melody?

Sample: http://www.lnctv.com/~a41154a/samples/

2. Can I make this kind of sound in Reason?

Ofcourse you can , you can make everything in reason!

yes this sound can be reached in reason using filters and reverb and a delay line and u should be good ill give it a shot this afternoone if i have time.

Thank u both.

I have tryed to use the subtractor, with a sawtooth waveform but it just doesn't sound right. With a square waveform it doesn't sound right eather. :(

Is it some kind of saw-sound? with some filter tweaks.

ON TOPIC:

That velvet moods sample is awesome.. i'm going to have to try something like that in my next track..

the lower synth is a basic trancey saw with a nice rythem and is EQed to sound that way.. try cutting everything above and below 200-6000hz while boosting 3000hz to get that sound..

whereas the upper one is a softer saw with a bit of distortion on it that is also EQed about the same..

Alanzo:

Yeah. I know that the "lower bassnotes" is a sawsound. It's just that "upper" sound that I'm searching for. really likes it! :)
Like I said, I tryed a saw sound but it didn't sound like his saw. Maybe I can change the sound by eq'ing in the middle range of the sound?
If u have made the sound, let me hear. :)
What program do u use?
