Neither... if you can afford it, go for Machinedrum or if you're desparately seeking 808/909 sound, go for Novation DrumStation. I have original 808/909 and Drumstation - I cannot tell them apart in the mix. Electribes are , IMHO...
 |

hey cheggy |
Are you talking about an MC-909 or a TR-909, cos there is a big difference, especially in price between an electribe and an MC-909. |

because :
1 ) either u didn't spend time with it
2 ) or u suck at producing
I completely love them
If you produce only trance then just maybe I could partly agree |

Well... to each his own. I hope you understand that my opinion of electribe does not reflect my opinion of you. Hence, I did not need to berate you - as I am sure you're a kind, intelligent, well-versed individual. In my experience with electribe, I found them to be limited and somewhat quirky. I especially did not find it too attractive when I realized that Electribe had a serious clock drift and could not synch up with the sequencer or would go out of synch in about 30sec-1min, no matter what I tried. I event spent money on a dedicated midi timepiece - which did nothing to fix the problem.
So, with that said - I take no offense in your assesment of my production skills or time spent with the Electribe.

hah
that makes another story
that's like comparing 2 whole different things
electribe uses (virtual) analog synthesis to create its sounds, that means you can change the sounds from the foundation. (except for the hats, clap and cymbal)
mc 909 is pure sample & synthesis so you are limited.
@ cynep I guess then it's partly because of your negative experience with it (the midi sync) you don't like them... |
