wtf? I didn't think that Butterfly Effect was that great- and definitely uncomparable with Donnie Darko.
Pi is also a weird, ed up movie. |

no i wasnt. i dont like movies that are overly hyped. i heard so much hype about donnie darko and all i found was a story...nothing clever happened. i was told the film was a masterpiece, thought provoking, clever and you could take it in many ways. which was not the case at all. butterfly effect on the otherhand was not hyped up for me and hence i came into the film with no expectations.
on top of that i just felt butterfly effect was a far better and intresting story than donnie darko. the characters were more intresting as was their interactions than in donnie darko.
yes alot of people will think im stupid because of this but at least am not a sheep and follow blindly what everyone else likes and thinks. i have my own opinions formed on my own. one of mine is donnie darko was pretty poor and i find alot of films far more intresting than it.
ps. nice to see you still have that pic {b.s.e.}. me and my mates have been thinking of making the bees thing happen this summer :P we will film and take pics for you |

ehh- I don't think too many jumped on the band wagon for Donnie Darko. For me, I happened to download a movie off a file sharing program (the horror- i know) and it was mislabeled. I stuck with the movie and then just really liked it towards the end. The characters of Donnie Darko were complex in their own way- from the main character, himself, to Patrick Swayze's character. |

What happens in the director's cut is...
SPOILERS:
When Evan (Kutcher's) character runs through the hallways in the Sunnyvale Institution (the events that you see at the beginning and much later on) he seeks out the doctor's office and the home movies that he asked his mother to bring. This time around, though, he seems to watch an old family film of his mother while in the hospital , ready to give birth, as opposed to the one where he first met Kaylee. Transferring himself back to the womb, Evan ends up opening his eyes while his mother was being carted into the delivery room. At that point, he grabs the umbilical cord and clamps down on it. His vital stats decrease while you see how the doctor's prepare for a C-Section. Unfortunately, they are too late and the baby ends up being a stillborn. After this scene, you see all the events that occur without Evan's intervention - His would-be friends and how their lives went. The end. A little farfetched, no?

might be different in america because over here in scotland its a bit of a cult movie that gets more credit than its worth. |

| This movie " The Butterfly Effect" has been one of the best movies I've seen so far this year. I rented it hence I heard it makes you think and gives you thoughts at the ending.. which is what caught my attention. I dont know why some people here dont understand it, but it's so clear.. whatever one does, has a consequence in life, and it can effect not only you, but everyone around you.. awesome movie indeed. |

The Chaos Theory + The Butterfly Effect. ;)
The DVD has an entire special feature devoted to how scientists view both. |

I went to see this at the cinema a while back, and I thought it was really good, then I watched a copy lent to me by a mate and it had that exact ending and I was like "WTF?? This isnt how I rememeber it!!". I guess that kinda explains my little dilemma.
