| Seeing him tomorrow. I've only seen him once before, but he was tremendously good in March in Chicago. Can't say that I like every song on Reflections, but he's had so many great songs throughout the years. Not everything he's done is perfect, but give the guy some credit. There's posts here saying he's bad because he does the same thing all the time and then there's ones saying he's bad because he's changed. Obviously everyone has their own opinon, but mine is thathe's still one of the best out there. Wir Sind Wir is a great song. |

nah I just get turned off when Dj's turn into pompous asses who care only about $$$$ and not the quality of their performances.
and yeah I'm sure people will say Sasha is an ass...but the only difference is he still brings it. Mad skills |

Flow!
PvD's sets have the most flow, so smooth... sweet transitions |

As a producer, i liked PVD's older stuff more than the stuff he's producing now... rite now, id say he's an OK producer. Im not questioning his ability or anything, we all know what the man can do. But like someone else said, he uses that one bassline way to much. I think he needs to try some different things. I'm just not really a fan of his style now anymore.
I have seen hiim live twice in the past year. And as a DJ, you cant question his mixing. Its pretty much flawless. His sets have really good flow, and theyre banging all the way through(the last time i saw him in June). However, his sets, i feel, are just boom boom boom... which is good, i like it hard, but i dno, i just dont feel any sort of direction with them. But thats a subjective thing. This year, I'd say armin and ferry were the djs ive enjoyed the most.
As a remixer, he is ok.. theres a lot of better remixers out there IMO...
So in closing... I used to be a big pvd fan, but recently, other djs have been appealing to me more.
PVD next #1 dj in the world? No, not in my opinion... But im hopin Armin will get it, i think he deserves it.. I'd like to see Ferry higher up there too... |

| I still respect him a lot, but Armin is a perfect mix of PVD and Tiesto. Plays more unique tracks and has a flow and energy changes in his sets like Tiesto, and mixes technically like Van Dyk. The best of both worlds. Is it just me or does anyone else question Tiesto having been #1 so many times? He does play fantastic tracks and understands how to move a crowd through his programming, but he mixes so abruptly and seems to come off his beat a lot when he plays live. Ferry is fantastic too in the realm of trance. The guys that have really impressed me lately are Sander K, Hernan Cattaneo, and Max Graham(who, sadly, I have only heard on cd and recording). |
