msn messenger no longer works 4 moi

ok, last thing you want to deal with when you do 10 night shifts is around with msn messenger updates only to find that they don't work. so you download the "critical" updates that Bill Gates tells you you need. Nuh-uh. Maybe the Explorer Service pack might fix the problem! NO!
i haven't been able to use messenger on my home PC for at least 3 or 4 days now.. not really that big of a deal, but like right now, I can't use it and I want to be using it, goddamnit.
Any ideas about what could be wrong?

I think in those windows update it only gives you version 4 er something.... |
