hi ian,
bassline sounds abit airless and dry. try give it some more edge (maybe play it one octave higher). the hoover sounds ok, anyway i never liked the hoover :p. this distorted sound at 5.03 is very good, makes it sound more unique.
you definitely need to work on your buildup. add some elements that give it more tension (i suggest a high-filtered sequence in the background like you did at 5.04).
anyway this has some good appendages and is very good for your first tune, keep on working...

Thanks to soundrush for the ideas, I didn't get to spend too long on it, but I can now have a mess around & try out what you've said :)
@ 7c, i have a keyboard, its about 10 years old tho and I can play silent night on it....
And not wanting to dl my tune's fine, there's no law either way, but in the arguing days we both gave as much as we got back don't you think :p |

This is cool :)
First off, I really don't like the noise that comes in at 2:15 (on the 5th & 7th beats, then later turns into a melody). And I think the snare is a bit too generic.
The rest of the tune rocks :D It doesn't take itself too seriously but manages to stay respectable... The kick's nice and strong and the levels are pretty tight (except that 2:15 noise :p). It's obviously work in progress but it's definetly going in the right direction. Gah I like this a lot :p
edit: oh I forgot to add, the bassline sounds like it's wandered out of hard house and got lost in another genre....it's mint! :D

Tune sounds pretty good, but where are those shakers?! Synths and bassline both sound good but I think it needs more percussion to carry it along. Also think a clap would sound better than a snare when you have it on every second beat.
Good work though. Well done. :) |
