| This ended up being one ing great party. Even though it was the most empty ive seen the place, the people who were there, were there for one thing only....to party their asses off. The beats were off the hook all night long whether you were in the main room, or the lounge. Kieska started off with some great booty shakin house, which unfortunately was to an almost half empty club for the most part. Those who were there didnt mind at all, and actually took advantage of the liberty to move freely as you like. Lady Linzee hit the decks, right after Kieska and got the crowd in a in frenzy. People screamin, and dancin their asses off every you look. Even the one real up in her set was greated with an ovation, as Rony joked around with her right after the little mishap. Great set, real pumpin and dirty at times, i really enjoyed myself. Thanks for the cd as well, it sounded great on the way home ;). As for Jon's set, i thought it was very good. Only problem....i think he shouldve opened the night. When you go from uptempo house music, to more of a melodic progressive oriented set, it tends to lose the crowd. Unfortunately this is what happened and the place cleared out pretty quickly. I moved into the basement shortly after that and Robb G. was hitting us from all directions with some nice filthy breaks! Great energy in his set, and overall he really knows how to rock the crowd. The vibe in the lounge was fantastic. I dont know who closed down the lounge, but whoever the hell that was, tore the club a new . Dirty filthy tribal that was completely infectious. I was dancing all night long straight with no breaks or sitting down, and i started to cramp up large. But as soon as this guy took over, i hit my second wind and it was game over. I ripped up the dancefloor harder than i have in a bloody long time, in dress shoes i might add ;). Anyone who was in the basement when the place closed at 7:00am, i was the dude who was still goin off til the last track. Thanked Rony and Carey, and found out Carey actually did a small gig at my little highschool in Dundas a while back (small world!). Shoutouts to all i met (from both Tribe & Tranceaddict)....there are too many to name, maybe ill remember all of you after my extended cat nap. Im out for now - zzzzzzzzzzzzz. |

| I believe the guy who closed the lounge was the owner of release records :) (Adam something I think). Good to finally meet you jeff! You definitely live up to your name as the floorwhore (at least for last night). |

that really is a shame.
but in order to avoid that, rather than suggesting to switch slots, why not just be more flexible and match your set to the previous one? if you're a good dj (to say -not selfish) you should know how to accommodate & build on the already existing energy and vibe ...
just my 2c's...cos this seems to be a recurring problem with other dj's as well, and it is annoying as hell! ;) |

but at the same time, when you book a dj who's style is bouncey house, then you can't really expect him not to play that. I agree tho, there is something to be said for not pounding it out during an opening set. I personaly think that mixing in some techier/eletro-y prog could have kept up the intensity- if a dj choss to play more conventional plodding prog then, it wouldn't work. dj's def have to work together to make sure there is some fluidity. |

....it was Adam Nathan....i knew he looked familiar. He has NEVER pounded it out like that in all the times ive seen him in previous nights!!! Definately like his more "twisted" sound :eyes: |

Great night out at Chemistry..... glad to see that their hardworking team managed to attact a lot more people this time around!
Good seeing Kiseka looking so comfortable in the main room and Linzee hammered it out with her upbeat style of tunes. Tremblay's melodic prog sounded great, it's a pity a lot of people decided to make it an early night. Downstairs the Dukes got the crowd energized early and Robb G kept us dancing away as well. Adam definitely kept the late nighters (early morningers??) entertained with the tribal vibes.... he was still rocking it out when I left by 6:30.
Good to see a lot of the usual suspects and it was a pleasure to meet floorwhore! Hope you got home okay. :)
