Hybrid & DJ Rap at Crobar Review

DJ Rap was on till like just around 2 in morn - she was great - nice house set by her - lotta funky stuff - and then wham Mike Truman and Chris Healings (Hybrid) came on, and then a kinda depressing thing happened - Crobar main floor started to thin out crowdwise, b/c Hybrid was f***in brilliant - they started out w/ this great proggy breaks/trancey stuff and some psytrancey stuff - one bloody brilliant track they played was Private Taste - First [Automatic Records] - http://www.discogs.com/artist/Private+Taste - psy producers basically - then like an hour into their set, Hybrid got really funky - I liked it a lot but not as much - then went for a short break and came back, and stayed listenin to them till 5 AM - finally left then, got a BS parkin ticket - whatever :whip:
All u Marco V ppl - some of you ?????? - come to an act you won't see in NYC too often - 2x a year if we are all lucky - and if any of u ever pass up Hybrid Live P.A. for Marco V I will start busting heads, I would take Hybrid and Underworld over PVD, Armin, Tiesto, even Ferry any day.

I went to Marco V. He was good and he is a really decent person but I wasn't feeling his techno driven trance last night. I thought the opening dj was great. He played tribal trance. I wish I caught his name.
Hybrid is a real treat. I've seen them live at least 5 times and once in a live PA when they came out with their Morning Sci-Fi album. Me thinks I should have taken off after the opener to rock out at Crobar. Glad you had a good time :)
By the way, if you mention Underworld and Hybrid Live PAs. You should add Fluke - live PA to that. And Thrillseekers Liven- even better than NU-NRG live - seriously! |

| I thought that hybrid put out a fantastic set. It was disappointing that the turnout was somewhat lackluster...still, those guys are amazing. I can't wait to see em perform live. Were many TAs there? I was the funky dancin' asian dude in a dark striped shirt, up in Mike and Chris' face, heh. Oh, and I'm totally down with Trancer...we gotta show some more support for the acts that don't come by too often! don't want new york to dry up even more... |
