it just means that new yorkers have more class and decency than bostonians... which i think is a totally unspoken about trait about new york people :)
(plus u're in a college cafeteria... it's college) |

its so evident though, i mean would you rock a yankee hat in boston? all this hate towards the yankees, obviously boston is pissed about something? cmon its a game remember, lols clearly i dont see why the boston fans demonstrate so much support for their team that they exemplify hate toward any representation of the yankees. its great for baseball, boston and yankee rivalry, but does the rivalry necessarily mean personal hurt or injury? Why are you flexing so much muscle...I just think that boston being such a small city, that possibly they are closer and more united in the hate-yankee-aspect. its like the ones who join the fight rather than stopping it. i'd rather punch with everyone else then get punched...lols its soo funny IMHO...thats why I love boston fans.
people say the yankee's have the highest payroll, that we buy the players, like any franchise who if they had the money allocation to purchase players im sure they would. We are not saying we are monopolizing the league by having an all-star team. We clearly dont have one, the yankees are simply a well paid organization who need to show that they are working for their money. they play hard to win thats the objective, not to play nonchalantly and still get paid alot. as of right now i have to say the yankee team is just above average and im happy they are playing the way they are now. they are not OVER POWERING their opponents, they are playing just as hard to win these ballgames.
i think this year they have been playing great for the players they have. There is no one in our lineup that is a serious threat to other teams, giambi's out...bernie, a-rod, jeter, jorge are all solidified hitters, they aren't fence swingers like reuben and sheff, kenny lofton is shakey, matsui isnt a proven hitter, cairo and clark?? if you look closely the yankee's arent a threat. they just play a real tough game by being competitive and taking advantage of the other teams mistake...
and pitching wise, i honestly have to say with brown and messina out, they don't have much. el duque is trying to regain the confidence he had, contreras is hot and cold...gordon is over worked...all im saying is before you guys say the yankees have paid players stop and look...a-rod, jeter, bernie, and jorge are all seasoned hitters, the rest can be pitched too with good pitching. |

Im from the Boston Area, so my teams are red sox, dolphins and hurricanes, and now we have ricky williams retiring at 27 yrs old, yup, you're guess is as good as mine!!! |
HAHAHAHA thats the funniest thing i've ever heard,
if you were 'from' the boston area your teams would be the sox pats and broons. maybe the celts.
i'm a sox fan and i think its fun and harmless with the rivarly,
if you want to wear your hat in either city you should be able to. i mean definitely expect some guff from some people but when it goes to violence and forcing some one to do stuff they don't want to do thats way too far. I don't buy the payroll argument bs either, Bostons is the 2nd highest in baseball. Bronson Arroyo is a sporadic pitcher, so I don't think he mean to hit aroid. both teams def have a sucky bullpen.
As for Zimmer he apologized to pedro in his interview with ESPN while along with saying stienbrenner was a . take it for what its worth.
NYC and Boston are both fun times in their own way. Beantown did get Best city on earth from Maxim though =) |

bahah some of you really make me laugh. oh yea a-rod got owned alright...by someone who was FULLY protected. that was real weak. if you really want to talk about getting owned...
the yankees have been owning the red sox for 85 years.
get back to me in the year 2089 when the redsox catch up to the yankees by winning 27 world championships. redsox fans cant really say till then. :stongue: |

| There is something called perspective, and usually it is that at the end of the baseball season the Red Sox are usually at home while the Yankees are still playing. I as a Yankee fan was bored with the series, bad pitching, bad fielding, way too much being made of that alleged "fight" and the overhype of the Boston-Yankees series. Maybe if the two teams were tied or close in the standings but c'mon 7.5 games back. It also astounds me how psychotic and manic some people get in the two respective stadiums, cursing, screaming, flashing obscenities and wearing cheesy T-shirts with derogatory slogans, all while young kids are at the ballgame. |
