Hi guys. I have been reading up on harmonic mixing and how much of a better dj it makes you. But so far i have not come across a website or any thread that teaches you how to find the keys of the tunes MANUALLY. discussions have been done for people who already know how to find the keys .. but there is no A-Z on how to achieve that. i read up that mixmeister does that .... but its also not perfect.

So the question is ... what should i buy and how should i use it... should i get a small keyboard from yamaha or casio or a guitar? ..

and if i were to get a casio keyboard which will set me back at least for about $200-$300 bucks .. how do i use it ? ... i dont have any music knoweledge. perhaps someone could give a crash course? ... with references to some trance tracks and how the keys should be found?

its confusing me guys ..

thanks a heaps

I use the keyboard program from DJ Prince's Website. When you open the piano program, there is a drop down box on the lower right hand corner where you can select major or minor. And just play the keys while you play your trance songs to determine the key. Don't waste your money buying a real keyboard just to key songs.

One question I have is that after the keys such as D#m or whatever key, some people put number then the letter A after it such as: D#m 5A or F#m 5A. What does that 5A mean?

I think it has to do with the Camelot system.
