hi all,
this is a e side better than my last tune and anything else ive ever done
http://www.dj-craig.co.uk/airwave.mp3
really enjoyed making this, took bout 3 nights wanted to do something a bit diff with it , went for a more darker techier sound and i think it works well,
its 192k quality
any feedback on this at all greatly appreciated,
btw. before ne one sez i know i need to make the crash more noticable and add louder sub bass! ne thing else?
thanks a lot |

Hey mate
First impressions
Percussive work is nice, maybe needs another hat or something in there
Kick doesn't do it for me, if you're low on samples, lemme know & I can send you a zip file with a few more in:)
like the breakdown, but think you maybe need to filter the first acidy stuff, so that it rises a bit louder during that last bit
Lead again, starts kinda low, and would sound good filtering up a bit from maybe 70% to 100% of the volume, sounds a tiny bit dull carrying on like that :)
I'd say that's the main problems tbh mate, the track is well structured, just needs maybe a bit more on top, very similar to how I do things, and when mastered it comes out quite deep & muddy if you get me. A Secondary lead would pretty much help that, plus a diff kick :)
hope thats useful anyway mick
Edit - you can have a secondary lead & still keep the darker/techy feel too :p |

did u use the original fruityloops percussion for this?
the kick sounds familiar.
interesting synth work, but im a more harder fan, this doesnt cut it.
it sounds like u raped the snare silly, too many rolls in there. |

A mastering job needed, a lot of peaking here. could use a few effects again arite percussion and layout. Ure getting better, gis a shout sumtime for that collab mate.

| Sound levels are all WAY off... not a fan of the new sound that the track has been taken in, almost sounds like a MIKE rendition... but something is lacking. Diretion seems somewhat lost. Sounds aren't that interesting either. Good effort though! |

plus
like the darker approach
I give u points for originality
minus
intro a little too messed up
not sure about the breakdown
basic percussions
the intro to the strings is way to messy
hmn.. the synth
u need more bass or a bass
conclusion
it is nice that u try to make something different, the kick is way too loud, and the bass is gone.. but I think its a nice effort and nice idea.. |

in FL....
Put your sample in on whatever path, then goto the thing where u can add FX etc and assign a new channel. Assign to this a buzz effect adaptor, and then select jeskola filter i think it is, u got 3 levels then, take the middle one (at the far right) right click and assign events then draw in, the higher the green bars, the louder it'll be, i have 1 hr left on a mix but i'll ul a pic of it after to show a bit better :) |
