Listen I've been adicted to trance and only trance since the ing day I was born and I've always had this wish to make my own music. Just the kinda music you can get seriously high on and I know you know what I mean.
The problem is I have no musical talent what so ever. I can hardly play "Twinkle twinkle little star" on my synth!
But I researched the net some time ago.. maybe a full year ago and understood that I needed Propellerheads Reason 2.5. I dow.. I mean bought it. I bought a MIDI keyboard too.. a new soundcard with hardly any latency at all. I read thrue the entire Reason manual and have studied different music and reason related articles on the net too but still it feels like I know nothing at all. I haven't created one full song! I've tried so many times to create sum cool synth sounds like pads or whatever but I just can't do a ing ! I end up spending a full day in front of Reason but without creating anything but a nice headace.
I want to be able to create thoose sweet pads and nasty "low-attack" trance sounds that appears in every trance tune! But how the !? Could you please give me ONE SINGLE TUTORIAL on how I make one trance sound on an empty initialized subtractor in Reason. I want one of thoose sounds that .. pops out you know! That attacks at once and have high frequences.. please!? I'm strarting to cry soon.. I want so bad but can't do a ing thing! |

how long have you been trying to produce?
and many 'pro' producers can't play an instrument (that includes keyboard) (so they can't play winkle twinkle little star either) i do assume you got it hooked up to your pc (midi).. its more about the sounds you get out of it. thats basic knowlage + experiance
if you want turtorials on creating sounds you better post samples.. |

| oh and, as i see you dow.. bought reason i think its usefull to download some r(n/p)s files from www.propellerheads.se they have some demo song section somewere, as i read in your other thread you'd like to know how they made sounds fit together and stuff. take a look at some rns files. if you like a tune, go figure out how the setup in the rack is done, how effects are used (and what difference they make (by putting them on by-pass for instance ;) ) also you can play the single elements of the track by itself that way. |

Take a look at this minths issue of Computer Music Magazine. There's a tutorial on how to sound like Ferry Corsten. Might get you started anyway.
Also, it was suggested by someone, somewhere that you try to re-create your favorite track. Its woth a try as it will give you a better understanding of what instruments make what sounds, and where to put them in a mix. Plus it gives you a little more structure, less intimidating that way. Good luck |

Sure, have a go at producing.
Search this forum to find tuts about sounds. And read the sticky's.
But blatant appreciation of a spesific music-genre doesnt automaticly make you a producer.
Its a classic noob/overeager example.
Cheers. |

practice and learn from others patches.
that what i did, id take a patch and tweak it to my liking
then its all abt sequencing ideas up in ur head and thinking up of a way to portray them. |
