Controlling a Module on the same Midi Channel

Im trying to use 1 synthesizer to control another... And I have them communicating on the same midi channel...but when I press the keys I get 2 sounds playing at the same time, one from each synthesizer.
How do set up my synths so that I only hear the modules sounds when I press the keys from the control synth? I dont want to hear the control synths sounds when Im trying to hear the sounds from the module.

| Just a guess, but you could make the controller's amplitude output to zero, and make sure the MIDI output is still there... |
