Help with effects in FL 3

Hey, I'm trying to produce awakening on FL, anyways...
I want to put a digital delay effect on just pattern 9 and 10. How do I do that ? The only way I can seem to make the delay work is putting it under effects - master, and that puts the effect on everything, including my bass, drums etc. I tryed putting it under FX 9 and FX 10 but that does nothing !!

| Create the delay in an empty and unused effects channel. Then route the effects channels you want to have delay to the delays effect channel (instead of the master channel). |
