currently at the school that I work at, the kids seem to have this file called saver.exe floating around in their folders. The first thing I thought was... hmm, a screensaver maybe?

either way i'm thinking that its something that they shouldn't have because its not just a few kids that have it. makes me think its something along the lines of a game or something.

the policy that we have here is that we dont allow games at all except for around holiday time.

anyway, I checked out the file and it doesnt appear to do anything. doesnt add a screensaver to the list, doesnt create any temp files, etc...

so has anybody heard of this file?

saver.exe is for most part associated with screensavers. Is this file in a specfic folder? or is on random folders on each computer?

there are no confirmed virus with saver.exe file name... so i don't know about that. run "netstat -a" in dos and look for open ports.
