Hmmm...I did kind of the same effect with a gate without using a compressor with varying gain.

Ungated:

Gated:

FLP File:

(replace the kick with your own)

Requires VNoiseGate VST,

So...how does this work? It's pretty simple...the bass and kick are routed to FX3, where the gate automatically reduces the sound when it gets to a certain volume, leaving the bass in but the parts that conflicted between the bass and the kick out. Then a duplicate kick, exactly the same at the first, is played on top of that, and the original distortion is gone.

1. forget about the C1, the sidechain function won't work in fruity
2. use the search function, this has been discussed recently --> http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...light=sidechain
