Mainly commercial stuff, but still, some absolute classics on there.

Yeah, a lot of crap on it, but also masterpieces like Flaming June and Xpander. I would never buy such a compilation though.

You know this 's gonna be rockin when you put CD1 in and the first beats of Sandstorm get your body moving instantly.

Or not.

If I needed a trance cliche/archetype reference guide, this might just be the ticket. :)

That's the funniest tracklist I've seen in ages, classics with trash, now can that really be considered classics

Xpander
Flaming June
Bullet In The Gun (oakenfold fave)
For An Angel
Gouryella
Touch Me (will always be a classic in my book)

and others

But

castles in the sky
flip n fill
milk inc

sorry I would never buy a CD like this, classics yes but it is an insult to trance and I bet friends of mine will see this and start calling the trash....trance.

they need to make up a REAL history of trance compilation...get some good old stuff on there from back in the 96-97 days as well...

i think "oakenfold - 2 years at cream" is about the best history lesson you can get. im sure you guys can come up with some others or bash me but whatever.

*puts on fire retardant suit just in case

I'll leave that to Penn & Teller. Hehe.

Every time I see this tracklisting, it makes me laugh harder. As TTA put it, what a curious disparity -- hey, on the bright side, you know the intricate productions DO get a chance to shine. Who knows, someone who's never heard "Xpander" or "Flaming June" before might just pick up the compilation and open up their ears to some new sounds.

Is it mixed?

OH MY GOD.

I saw this, and just before clicking the link, I was like, "Man, if they put Sandstorm and/or Castles in the Sky on this album I'm going to kill someone."

BANG. FIRST ING TRACK: Sandstorm.

I closed the window before the image finished loading. I don't care what else is on there. Anything good is simply disgraced by appearing on the same album as that god-awful piece of europop gheyness.
