They are funded by a fee from each music company if I remember correctly.

The RIAA is a goverment Body and i guess Goverment funded by the U.S tax Office, I could be wrong i think the RIAA is an Organisation rather than a Ltd / PLC Company. Organisations usually get donations from big music companies to try and re-turn some of the trillion dollars ppl have downloaded ilegal music. Personally I belive the RIAA is more concerned about making profits and scrutinising Minors and People who just wanna listen to music rather than protecting POP Groups from making a million quid for music that is so poor. Just watch MTV Cribs FFS, is there really a need for 8 cars !!!

that reminds me of the south park episode about downloading music and how it hurts bands like metallica and britney spears.

Fukin Metalica , There are like all millionnairs the people who download there music are there own fans who made them rich in the first place and now they try and screw em over there greedy twats i have like £200.00 in my bank and im happy they have like 10 million and they moan like a bunch of bitches . It may be shiet music but there was a time where downloading albums were tricky as websites that had the mp3s on got shut down in seconds esp lycos and geocities, then came napster and AG which were two awesome peices of software hehe. then then came the RIAA worse nightmate P2P applications, HaHa,

while i disagree with some of the points you made...i have to side ONLY a little bit with Metallica on their outrage over the downloading...after all if you created something and wanted to make a living out of it, i'd be outraged if people were getting it for free when i need it to put bread on the table...

however, i disagree with Metallica's approach to it all, going after the very people who helped expose their music to people who otherwise would never bother to listen to them at all...also the fact that their recent releases were next to e didn't help their whining about file downloading...

the RIAA just needs to change its business model to offer cd's at a lower price and have innovative, better music out there...there wouldn't be less downloading...i dont believe anyone or anything can stop that...but people will buy good music if its out there...

later.
