i dont know what it was about limelight that was soooo much better than how avalon is now. i mean, i know decor shouldnt have much to do with it, but limelight had a totally different atmosphere... the church pews, the hidden rooms (like that one with the fish tanks in the walls), the crosses, the purple vip area above the dj booth... it just felt so different. but besides all that, they pack way too many ing people in there and everytime i was there recently you had to pay extra to be able to get into any area where you could sit... thats bull. one price should be all access.
but seriously if they would just limit the headcount a little i would deal with the rest of that. |

yeah avalon is gayy aiite...and i agree about the all-access bit...i mean vip is fine but in the interest of making more money the clubs now close off parts of the clubs for VIP access...it just makes for less available space and hence the overcrowding...two weeks ago i was in the Spider Club area of Avalon (not sure if thats the VIP section) but even that was f0ckin crowded. and if i had to PAY to sit in that section i would have been PISSED (i think u need to buy at least a bottle to sit in that area).

It looks like we have a little group to go. :happy2:
I am not sure what my chances of going to AVB tho... :sadgreen:
Where abouts do you all live? Maybe we can figure out a meeting place?
One more question, where can I find a nice club to check out Trance in NYC? I wouldn't mind checking out some clubs tonight or tomorrow. Apparently, Avalon is not the place to go to... :conf: |

amen to that, they are retarded about those prices
the atmosphere is different now, when i went to the g/d party i think it was in may, i got my vinyl signed by dave and josh, and some kid wanted to fight me over it! such bs.. i do promote there, so i signalled a bouncer and he got owned =P
honestly, i think they should have these great dj nights at roxy instead.. only time it got insanely packed was the november PVD reflections night, that was Exit/black type of sweatfest =\ |

I am a total virgin to the clubs here in NYC. I live in the West Village and there are waaay too many trendy places for my liking. That scene was cool to me... when I was barely legal to drink. Anyway, I want to go to a club where they cater to people who are there for the music.
How is the Crobar? |

| Crobar is not bad, should def. check out if you new in town. I think they play house and progressive over there... |

as opposed to wat?
well many clubs enforce dress code to some extent now -- and i know its a sore point wid some partiers but i dont mind it really. it doesnt hurt to look decent during a nite out...most clubs will allow neat and casual...except when certain bouncers decide to be an ass about it...
ive gone to Crobar on their regular friday/sat nites -- i like the place :) and the dance floor/sound system is great. |

Did a lookup on it and it doesn't sound too bad. Maybe I will check it out tonight. What time do they close?
I am not too fond of dressing up however, I will do it just so I won't get hassled at the door. Is it really $25 at the door? |
|

| at the door, yes...try to sign up for a guestlist...mebbe its $15-20 then...like clubplanet or something...get there before 12 tho cuz thats when they close. |
