| Is time travel a possibility? What actually happens when you exceed the speed of light? Is it even possible to exceed the speed of light? Just some questions I thought id might ask, plus there seems to be quite a few intelligent people in here so I am just curious to see what you think. |

time distorts around you as you approach light speed - for example 2 clocks with exact time, one motionless, one approaching light speed would appear to be a few seconds out or whatever... apparently this has already happened in a space ship during orbit or something - i just remember reading about it
but in terms of breaking the light barrier you are supposedly meant to have an infinite mass - which is quite impossible in all logic... personally i think of the speed of light as just another speed ie sound... example being if you are travelling in space (with no friction and no terminal velocity) and you have something that is constantly accellerating you, i believe that you will pass the speed of light

I once read that every second or even millisecond is another dimension of 'you'.
so the way we view time is as a continuum, but rather time is nothing but a subjective concept that we, as the person in THIS dimension is experiencing it, views it.
but then again- that article sounded like complete and utter bull :) |

In other words, he saying no. you can not go faster than the speed of light. This is his Special Theory of Relativity and it says if matter were to go faster than the speed of light, it would cease to exist.
noone has disproven it (in Einsteinian Physics anyway) and probably never will. |
