Alright, here's your chance to let it all hang out. This takes it back to debate 101 and please remember there are rules and regulations to doing this or you'll force making yourself look like the ass that you are!
Remember constructive comments are required, no personal insulting, no direct attacks. This is SUBJECT oriented which depends on you to accept another's opinion, rebute or confirm their facts.
Direct insults or attacks to a person and not their facts will lead to my slipper upside your domepiece (see dictionary: head), and the assdonkey you make yourself out to be.

TOPIC:

Why am I seeing non-trance related material in this local forum being flamed by other members?
-------------------------
I'm aware that the search button will provide a person with the necessary related links which have been discussed about their issue. Is it necessarily the same situation that they are encountering? If someone were to start a new thread about an gf/bf related issue, aren't we as a community (not music specific, actual individuals and participants of this board in simply human nature, allowed to comfort, advise, and declare any opinion which might deem beneificial to that party? I do not see how explaining to someone to utilize the search button an acceptable answer to their issue. It's like if you got a cut on your finger and you asked your mother what to do and she said GO TO THE HOSPITAL. Mom can I get a nail clipper - GO TO THE HOSPITAL.
Take in mind that everyone's issue is isolated to their character. This is to make for a closer community OUTSIDE of EDM. Yes we are EDM specific in terms of site content, however by joining this community do we sacrifice the freedom of speech to all other non-related EDM issues? Yes, the COR is allocated for such, but wouldn't that make for the local community rather EDM specific?
PLEASE DISCUSS YOUR OPINIONS AND VIEWS! |

Too be honest, I don't know whats wrong with some people on this board, but why does it matter if people post things that are not related to trance in the NYC, and other regions..doesn't it get boring after awhile? Especially concerning the post about that girl on the rebound...She posted it here because she felt that her friends her in this forum, therefore why delete her thread (As BitchBoy implied)...
Some things are too personal to put in general forums, where there are people that you do not know..so why can't we post questions about our life in a forum where there is already a close-knit community?
It's refreshing to see different kinds of posts after awhile that are non-related to trance..and as far as conduct is involved maybe some of you were "disgusted" by the sex threads..but by seeing half of the replies, I would have to say that percentage is very minimal (honestly I really do not know who was disgusted besides Lunasea)..So if you guys wanna cut down on posts, then how about you stray away from lude topics...but a girl asking about a guy..now why cant she post that?
C&Ped...from a previous post.. |

| Well I know that I post my personal stuff here because I'm extremely comfortable with the people in here. I get good advice when needed and have a hell of a time hanging out with them when opportunities present themselves. We really are a community and something that I'm proud to be a part of. I do understand what Dani's intentions were with the thread she posted, but I feal that it caused a great deal of drama here that may or may not have been needed. While I'm sympathectic to how she feels, I feel the way in which the forum was going was the right way. Everything evolves over time and as new personalities were introduced to this Forum, people started getting to know eachother on a personal level that so totally surpasses just knowing eachother on things that deal majorly with music. I want the people I've become close with on these boards(Brian, Bree, Vlad, Sergio, Indy......so many to mention & u know who you are) to continue to be a part of my personal "trial & tribulations" of life. There shouldn't be anything wrong with any of us talking about what we want to on this forum. If we're comfortable posting our personal things publically on this board, than so be it. If people aren't interested in our personal stuff, then basically don't get involved with the threads about it. |

| Agreed! I dont see you guys as just another user name on a computer over the internet. I see you guys a friends, people to party and hang out with, and a new world of diversity that is waiting to be opened. I feel that personal posts are peoples way of sharing a bit of theyre life with you in hopes that you can establish some time of common ground and possibly develop long lasting freiships as I see many people already have.:tongue2 |

In the past few months that Ive been actively posting, the friendships I have made I truly take to heart. There's nothing like talking and meeting ppl that share the same interests, and being able to bond with them thru shared experiences. May this board continue to promote such a wonderful environment. :):):):) Like Z, through these posts I learn more and more about each one of you. And how else would I have been able to meet everyone...its a community like this that brings ppl closer...

| I think that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, its a fact of life and has been amended by our constitution. Personally I think there is an infringement on our first amendment in which insult is viewed as an opinion. Often we receive an opinion with direct threat, personal dissatisfaction, and naturally become defensive. It's our human nature to do so, but amongst the build up of drama sometimes we fail to realize this and it escalates into a larger, prolonged grudge. Just simply remember that we are all part of this community for the music. Personal lives, way of living, expression, and character may clash in a diverse society. The control lies within your reaction to any situation, you can never actually control what other people are gonna say or do, but you can curve it the proper way by your response. I hope for a better TA, with a more understanding mindset which entails an intimate community. We are individuals are all! =) |
