i have been looking into going to the art institute of vancouver burnaby but im also thinking of just going back to regular college for spanish and italian. I really want to learn some foreign languages but dont know what the career choices would be like. I also dont know if i will do so well with regular college cause my math skills are very low and i will prob have to take a few years of remedial classe cause i have been out of school for over 5 years. What do u people think of learning another language as im 24 and i wonder if its to late in life to start learning someting like another language. I know many people in europe speak more than one language and sometimes several but they started learning them very early in life. Give me some opinions on this matter.

well, learning any new language is nice. You can get jobs with interpreter companies where you interpret on the phone with people, where one person knows only english and one person knows only spanish during a business convo. You get paid for stuff like that and its pretty good pay. However, spanish is too common. I dont know about italian though. besides interpreter jobs, another language comes in handy if you apply to a job and they want someone thats bilingual in an overseas office.

Imitation is key to learning languages. That is why children learn language easily because they imitate others and as you grow up, you imitate less of others and become yourself. I dont think 24 is too late.

I was told by my friend's grandfather for yrs and with recent world events, the place is not popular. He said learn arabic and work for the saudi gov't as a translator, he said you earn 150K a year, full benefits, 6 weeks holiday anywhere (flight covered). If I learned Arabic, the deal ain't that bad imo, cept with recent events may cast a unpopular light on it.
