I have eight inch sub monitors
Ideally for a nearfield monitor, how far should you have them from you, how wide and and how (in relation to your ear) ?
I know the old rules about moving them until they sound best, but just curious as to some suggestions. |

They should be as far apart from each other as they are from your head, and at ear-level. i.e. your head and your nearfield monitors should make an equilateral triangle.
Although that's the theory, our sound engineer at work says in our studio the sweet spot to listen is about thirty centimeters behind that. So I guess it really comes down to the characteristics of the specific room. |
