Is it possible to select audio output device per program?

Does anyone know if it is possible to, with Windows or a third party utility, select between soundcards/onboard sound for individual applications? The reason I ask is that my sound card is not really game oriented, and a lot of my games have crackly sound or glitch out from time to time. I was hoping there might be an easy way to disable my soundcard for certain applications and not for others. The games that have been having issues do not have the ability to choose onboard sound, so it seems like the only alternative is an external utility. :conf:

Assuming you want one soundcard for windows + games + crap and the other for producing...

Go to the sound control panel in windows and make sure your default playback device is set to the card you intend on using for games. Then in your music program of choice, make sure it is going out through the card you wanna use for producing (Card B ASIO as opposed to Card A ASIO etc.)

Also in most media players you can chose which soundcard to use. In winamp you go to the direct sound plugin preferences and just change the card in the list.

Hope this helps ^_^
