could u please explain in more depth all about this intro everyone seems to be talking about ? |
After Armin was done, the first track for Tiesto was put on but Tiesto wasn't standing in front of the decks. A couple of minutes later into his intro track he just appeared doing the famous Oakey god pose while everyone was shouting his name. It was just ridiculous. I'm suprised he didn't have to be airlifted in through the top of the tent as his head was clearly to big to fit through the door.
And after all that he went onto play one of the test sets i've ever heard in my life. even by his standards. Granted he had some problems with the sound, but then so did Tall Paul and his set was still good ;)

One thing that does make me laugh though was a post I read on the Tiesto board who thought the sound ing up was all a conspiracy:
| quote: | man i dont care wat u say about the speaker goin chris, it was all down to godskitchen wanting armin to be number 1 and stand out more than tiesto,
music loud for armin, tiesto starts 2 tunes later, sound is so quiet you can have a coversation with somebvody 10 feet away from you,
tiesto ends, music is back up and banging again for PVD.
it was all done on perpas to make armin stand out more than tiesto,as armin is godskitchens reident dj.
and i aint being paranoid,
its either that, or it is down to that interview a few months ago in mixmag were tiesto had supossed to of said he isnt to botherd about playing at gods, crasher anymore as he has done them to many times and they are all the same,so the sound guy at global must of thought il show u then,
it was deff done on perpas i say, |
He continues to go on making a fool of himself too: http://forum.tiesto.com/forum/viewt...=10971&start=10

well, i have just about managed to collect the tiny particles of brain that i actually have left, althouhg things are still requiring way more effort than usual :/
but yes, GKGG once again was faningtastic! in fact i would go as far as saying fandabidoze!! things didn't start out as planned. we took 6 hours to actually get there (it should take 2) as we basically cued from j15 right to the festival. roadwork cunts. so instead of cooking in the minibus we ended up walking slowly along side it whilst getting stoned, which seemed to work well.
after 30 years we eventualy got there to walk pretty much straight in. confusement ensued and me and nita promptly lost all trace of those that we came with, which was fun because it gave us a chance to walk asll the way around the damn site and fmailiarise ourselves with everywhere. more confusement occured when we realised that none of the arenas has signs on the outside, and they had swapped a few of te arena's around. so we walked into what was last year the global arena (in fact it was babooska), to find the cheeky monkeys that we came with!
so we decided to get ed and listen to some music.
as far as i can rememebr, these are those who i saw:
lee coombes - fantastic
stanton warriors - wicked
picottoooo - aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! immense, i totally wasn't expecting a DJ set from him so it was a great surprise! so his mixing wasn't spot on, but he played a fantastic set and he was obviously loving it. the crowd went mental! saw a few tunes of riccardo ferri live then went to see some..
adam beyer - my favorite set of the night, stomp!!! mmmm techno, strange thing is, he actually looks like techno..
dave clarke - good for the first half but i though he went a bit flat towards the end of his set. was really wanting more ed upness like his EM
paul van dyk - shock horror i actually enjoyed his set! was pretty pounding
carl cox - sat just outside the arena for most of his set chatting bollocks to people, but it sounded mint from where i was sat
james zabiela - i really wanted to see this guy, but i was waaaay to f'd in the a and needed faster music, so i left and went for some more techno
carlos verela - didnt see that much of him, but what i saw was wicked
umek - good set, although i have heard 100 times better from him, and was dissapointed with just a plain old good set :p
not actually sure what happened after umek, it involed walking around to spome arena, staying for 5 minutes, then deciding i would prefer a big fat spliff!
was wicked to see people again, but a shame i never saw some other people.. randomly finding kate in the main arena was very flukey! all-in-all i had a massive level of fun, contained within an all-time high of muggets. i think after last year and this, we may be getting a bit of a reputation in the car-park afterwards... everybody was totally diggin the ghostbusters theme!
the trip hjome was the most stisfying trip i have had in a long while. got straight out, and only stopped when we got to tamworth services for a spliff. i think we may have educated a few people about druggie clubbers.....
9.5 out of 10 (it would have been 10 if there wern't so many scallies and strange people)
edit: if anyone happened to be listening to 97fm in warwickshire at about 10am, you would have heard a very muntered me, being interviewed by my brothers mate for the radio. that is a scary thing... needless to say, i sounded a mess!! |
