My answer to Caribana

Which is the same answer to those who complain about clubs etc...

Give it a special part of the city in which to exist and then leave it alone. THe red light district idea that europe came up with could be extended to all sorts of things that bother the country bumpkins of toronto who wish to have small town peace and quiet in a "world class" city.

precisely:) and what a fine solution indeed.
malek
jayx, not applicable.

i for one was staying at a hotel, and caribana is not only annoying because of the party itself, but the kind of crowd it brings.

thugs with 20 inches rim pumping up their sound sys. to dance right infront of the hotel. and it was like that all over the city.

I hope you get the idea, i'll spare you all the stupidities i witnessed during those 2 days.

bleh, next time i'm not coming during that weekend.

Caribana-do you mean care for a banana?

i had a hotel downtown on friday, there was enough people for caribana there but they were all cool, we smoked a blunt of BC bud with some dudes from detroit and they loved the , good people

Last year during caribana weekend some chick was walking around the hotel i work at in a bra and a "mini-skirt" so small that u could easily see her panties (all that was missing was "whore" on her forehead)

...when security came up to tell her to go to her room and put something on, she flipped out and said she'd sue the hotel for racial discrimination

Lemmie guess....American?
I know that sounds like a knee-jerked reaction but I seriously don't see a Canadian spouting that off crutch of an answer.
(Unless they've been assumulated by the US bling-bling disease that is BET...)

That's your solution, huh ? And which part of the city would you suggest it takes place ? Lemmme guess, Jane and Finch ? Victoria Park ? Sorry, but your solution just betrays your mind set -- "I don't like it, so i don't want it near me". Smart thinking, Jayx1. What's next, ship the gay people off to some island cause they're too colorfull during pride week ?

For one weekend of the year, if you can't look past your own comforts and realize there are other people beside you living in the community, maybe moving outta the city might be something *you* should consider. i don't think they face traffic problems, hootchie mama's or thugz in SUV'z bustin caps in cottage country.

Oh, and before you ask. I was out all three nights, and although it did seem boisterous in some pockets, i didn't see anything more dangerous then really short spandex shorts, and brothers in big clothes pumpin G-rap.

It's amusing to read people talk about big girls dressing in shorts...it's GROSS you say, huh. Well i agree, lets just all go cram into a packed night club, do copiuous amount of drugs, sweat over each other, party with 250lb obnoxious juiced monkeys and their slutty, drugged out, cracked out barbie girls who obviously have too much makeup to hide the fact their hideous looking in the natural light.

It's really shocking to see the lack of tolerance exhibited by some of the otherwise 'intelligent' board members. Now, that's really GROSS !
