Yes because we need to waste more bandwidth.
I don't think it should count, it should be a counter for threads or responces that actually help the forums get better, but I think they should take it all away and everyone have custom status, that way there hopefully wouldn't be as much crap bogging down the server, you know the crap like +1, is your gonna respond at least type something good or funny, or anything, not just some crap like that just to try and bump your post count up, there are some quality threads on COR, but I bet if you check all the responces you would find 40% of the replys are just little bits of crap, I'm sure it doesn't help the server.
Enough of my ramblings, its beautiful outside and so I'm getting drunk. |

They haven't counted for a very long time now, before I appeared on the board in this incarnation.
A lot of the problems were involved with people spamming cor to get custom status, so they removed the opportunity and it worked to a point, you get guys like Orbax with lots of posts here, and some like myself who just pop in when we need to chill, having a bigger postcount is nothing major, and nothing would look stupider than to see lots of people spamming again just to be 'cool' for the sake of 26 letters text below their name |

A lot of COR posts include 1 word answers or pictures etc and therefore it's easy for people to post lots. I think it's fine as it is, and would even move to say no postcount at all would work on the forum. There is no experience from knowing you get an extra number in a database that you can show off.
Rather than trying to have numbers, just make quality posts and you'll have more respect than sum1 who's gained many posts using +1 or whatever padding scheme is available to them ;) |
