Aaaaargh.. ANOTHER HdJ1000 warranty claim....

Evening
Some of you may remember my excellent warranty claim for my hdj1000s just over a month back (something like 6 weeks). They worked fine, but something inside the right cup had broken and was rattling, and the arm connected to the cup was loose on one side.
Replaced by dealer no worries (pioneer said return to dealer)

The new pair.
Ive used them maybe 12 times (i still use my sony mdrv700s as well).
Im not working tonite, but was bored, so i ran off a mix of some classic stuff after i had dusted the cobwebs off.

I used them saturday night- they were absolutely fine all night.
Now:
The f&%$ing right hand cup keeps cutting out. Im very active when i mix- i dance around a bit, and i move my phones up and down and obviously from ears--> neck in the mix. As soon as i move they cut out and then cut back in. MAJOR pain as i mix in my phones a lot of the time, and using split cue when one of thems cutting is USELESS.

They havent been dropped- they havent a mark on them. 100% as new-They havent been near my box, they get carried in their bag seperate from the record box (bird carries them if shes with me lol) and they are immaculate. It is nothing to do with me or any abuse or mis-treatment at all.

Lets see what the dealer makes of this tomorrow

ty to hear that man, things should go well at the dealership, if not, a couple backhands should sort them out, but I think you just got unlucky and picked up a faulty pair, they are awesome headphones, but not all of them can be perfect.

You know you can buy Rolls-Royces that have some faults, and they cost hundreds of thousands....SHOCKING.

Hey Freak...had the same problem with mine, but it was the cord. try switching over to mono and see if they work out of both sides. if not the cup is dead again. I just replaced the cord on mine last week as it failed out of the right side. If the cord goes on these again, I'm trashing them and switching to something else...there is barely any use out of these things and I'm sick of putting up with this .

First thing i did was mono.

When you tap the cup with a finger it cuts.

Hi, guys.
i had the same problem. my right ear cup just went out.
it was the cord that was bad.

anyway, I found guide on how to replace cord. here is some info.
order this
and follow this

maybe this would save you some time and money if your warranty doesn't work.:D

It will work on principal- i will kick up a MAJOR stink with pioneer if they dont honour it.

Im not paying 140 quid for a pair of headphones and havign them break after about 12 uses and then having to pay and fix them myself

Utterly ridiculous.

It wasnt the main cord- it was something inside the cup- you tapped the cup and it cut out then back in again.

UPDATE:
Dropped them off at the dealer.
He STILL hasnt recieved a replacement pair from the original return, so he hasnt got a pair to give me.
He couldnt believe that they had broken so fast- he agreed they were immaculate and low use and it was not my fault tho.

Awaiting a call in the next few days or so- back to my trusty sonys for now. Knock them all you like. They may crack but they still keep working.....
