You'll be on til you make Captain, and even then. If you don't like to step on other people and take credit for thier work you're not going to go far. |

My cousin is a Captain right now, and those were pretty much his words about being a Lt. I'm a SPC about to be SGT and was talking to him about being an officer and he was just explaining how he felt. I can pretty much tell you thats how it is for Lts depending on where they are and what type of unit they're with though. Nothing personal... |

last summer I was 19 and the boss of a couple of people from 20 - 22, it was a ton of fun =)
there were a few times where I had to manage 10 - 15 people at a time and some of them were in their 30's. i felt bad but really liked doing it. |
