i fully agree with you Packer

Thing is, many party kids or rather, peoples, are le and are like "well i dont know who the these guys but hey! i know how ron e is" which is lame, cuz its the locals who keep it going. I would like to think thats wht we do in DCS< ya know?

I think this event should do that, cater to the up and coming as well as bring in some good respected locals *ones that we have named earlier* and btw - if any of you kats think of me as a respected local, hehe i am flattered. but nuff of that

one big reason i dont like playing in austin is because of the elitist attitude it has. SA has one of the friendliest yet fickle crowds, I hear nothing but good things bout the calley crowds, as one of the most laid back yet music loving crowds.

any help we can dish out , let us know

I hate living in the Valley for 6 months of every year, but I must admit, the Valley kids are great (the ones involved in the EDM scene). Packer, I think you made several great points in the novel you posted and I think everyone has the right to start getting excited. With the right promotion this will be a great success I think. Showcasing local talent and ignoring headliners would be a great approach for everyone trying to breakthrough. Packer, you have the right idea....

Thanks Dirk, thanks Andy! Keep the feedback coming

heres a question that ive been getting and i really cant answer truthfully.....how many people should i expect to show for this concert?

and packer i agree with you that if it was just locals (tx) then it would really get the ball rolling on the valley/texas edm scene to really open up and have many listeners and t.x.t.addicts. the only problem is to bring people down from diffrent parts of texas..(and ive gotten this question from businessmen and directors)...we would all have to put in some hard work in getting the word out, passing flyers out, and gaureenteeing(sp?) that everyone will have a good time. also ive come to the conclusion that if we're gonna do this right we prob gonna need 2 stages(one soft[trance ect.] and one hard[hard trance, techno, drum and bass]) and a sponsor/or donations from businesses. laters....

p.s. packer - how long did that take you hemingway???

If I had to guess, I would have to guess an attendence of maybe 150+ at top 450, cant expect too large a turn out for the simple fact that its a local heavy event...like Cinder, packe and others have stated, many people will not attend parties UNLESS there is a regional/national/global headliner. I have high hopes for this party, but I have to be realistic.

Thanks,

awesome thanks feuhrer.

also i think that we(the DJ's, any street promoters from TA.com, and me) do have to have a meeting of some sort just to make sure that we're on the same page and basically to brainstorm ideas.

Thanks guys. Bo, this is why I emphasised that the key is well planned promotion in which we need to put a lot of effort. At some stage, a few months before the party, we'd need to recruit promotors and hold organiser/promotor meetings to coordinate our efforts in making sure the event is sufficiently exposed, and well enough ahead of time. There's no doubt about it, this can be done if it is done right. There is no harm in getting those involved together in the near future also, like you said, to brainstorm ideas, not only for promotion but for the organising of the event itself. Another thing, I don't think we should put much effort into trying to get people to drive from all over Texas to attend this event, it's more risky and besides that, they aren't as likely to be repeat customers, as opposed to the support that we want to build locally. I think San Antonio would be about as far as we'd want to promote this heavily. Also I think 2 stages is a good number to work with for a first event, to give the crowd a bit of variety, while not costing too much to set up.

Haha and that last post took maybe 30 mins :p

thoughts?

LOL, it exists.... a Utopia in the midst of small hick towns.... a virtual Shangri-La. The home of the worst football team in the Big 12 this season and houses more beautiful girls than you know what to do with.

rapfiend03
