Blik's thread somehow disappeared while I was out "partying", but when I read it earlier I was infuriated, and now I simply need to let off steem. I'm probably not going to get any more popular, but these are my views on the topic of a possible TA-elite among us.
1: I'm glad that Swamper has responded to popular demand and created the VIP-section...
2: ...but I'm saddened that some use it as a way of setting themselves above others.
3: However, when all is said and done, it's not very constructive to post an "I'm unhappy and leaving" thread in the chill out room. What good is that going to do us? Why not keep posting like you used to, and then ignoring people with too high an opinion of themselves?
4: Actually the elite has been with us for some time. I don't imagine that my posts are more interesting than those the rest of you post (judging from the replies I get they're possibly less interesting), but clearly some of us do think of themselves as a kind of celebrity. What's the point of posting threads like "I'm not here for the next month", "I'm back" if not for getting some quick sympathy from the rest of us? I hate to see a good subject being pushed out of the list because of useless threads praising one individual. If you really think that your absense/return is important to some, why not PM them?
Now, I'm not angry with Blik, as I can easily imagine how upset I would be if somebody devaluated my opinion because of my low post-count or some other trivial thing, but we've had so many of these personal threads lately, and I think it should stop. I signed up here because of the friendly atmosphere and the possibility to discuss my favourite subject with like-minded individuals - not to be a participant of Survivor or Big Brother. |

i agree....i think it makes them feel wanted, because no1 in the real world gives a where they go and when they return...LOL...
no offence to blik or any1...

i'm not saying your thread is useless or anything, but the other one got closed for a reason. it might be best to put this vip topic to rest and not cause swamper anymore greif when all he had was good intentions. just my thoughts...

that's not very nice...its like saying since your vip on TA your really a dork who doesnt have a life? thats not nice to the vip peeps at all...i dont know what this is all about |

but i think u got me all wrong...where did i say that all "VIP" TAs are dorks...all i said was that those who post here saying they're about to leave (or have returned) - *regardless* of their TA status -are kinda wasting time...
its actually not THAT big of a deal with me, and if you haven't noticed already, i myself often reply to such threads...
and i don't believe there are any "VIP" TAs...altho sum are far more agreeable than others...
yeah there isn't too much of a point to this thread, im out :)

Could some one enlightn me. Whats the point of VIP-section?
This is only causing public forums less posts --> therefore much less intresting for me!
BUT hey: It's your call afterall... I will keep postin in the normal forums hoping that the 'VIPs' will understand that the vip-forum is a total nosense.
