Recording software for OS X

Was wondering if there was a program out there for OS X available for a trial download that'll record my mixes into a line in...

Since I am buying a Powerbook soon, I would also like to know which would be the best prog to record and edit on OS X Panther 10.3

I am running OS 10.2 and use Roxio Spin Doctor. It does the trick and is easy to use but i'm sure there has to be burlier software out there.

My usual suggestion is Audacity which is available for a variety of platforms including OS X.

I use Audio Hijack Pro - very good for different things, such as recording streams etc. :D

I always record into AIFF as this never gives any skips. You can find it here: Audio Hijack Pro 2.0

audacity is the best,cross platform and does what it says

i haven't used audacity for mac, but i have used it for windows and linux and it works really well, and according to a mac guy i know he likes it too for his mac.
