I'm not a guy's guy. Most men feel threatened by me.

see i thought you were that way too hehehe. i don't think other men are "threatened" by me...although i usually seem to get most of the attention from girls which i know a few of my friends have problems with.

i dunno. i just want some cool homies to chill with and drink all the time with ehehehe. i used to do that kinda stuff with my roomates, but then we all moved to different places and don't really keep in touch anymore....

The worst thing about being in the military is that the friends you meet eventually move on to another place, or you do. It's easily the worse thing about it.

I've made some really great friends over the years - most recently, my friend who I went to about 22 different countries with (Thailand, Egypt, France, Poland, etc...) - we were best friends for 3 years - hell, I'd take a bullet for him and he'd do the same for me. Now, though - he's out and living back in the states. I'm in the middle of a war. A year from now I'm a free man, and I may live near him, who knows - but it just sucks making great friends like that and having to give it up because you're working for the man.

Whenever I think of friendship, I remember something from one of the Lord of the Rings books. It puts perspective on life, I think:

I sit beside the fire and think
of all that I have seen,
of meadow-flowers and butterflies
in summers that have been;

Of yellow leaves and gossamer
in autumns that there were,
with morning mist and silver sun
and wind upon my hair.

I sit beside the fire and think
of how the world will be
when winter comes without a spring
that I shall ever see.

For still there are so many things
that I have never seen:
in every wood in every spring
there is a different green.

I sit beside the fire and think
of people long ago,
and people who will see a world
that I shall never know.

But all the while I sit and think
of times there were before,
I listen for returning feet
and voices at the door

Come chill with me in Venice in September, man. ;) We'll find you a nice Italian girl to make Shado jealous.

It is nice to have some buddies to talk with. Mine are pretty much all gone now, but some of the best times of my life have been sitting at a cafe or resteraunt sipping on wine and discussing the mysteries of life (women mostly).

Ahh, memories.

Most of my friends are guys, they all tend to be BIG goofballs.Which is always fun to hangout with them.I dont have that many female friends cause the tend to think me and my group of friends are inmature for some odd reason:conf:.I guess you can say my gf friend is one of my best friends.

And my number one friend(the one i spend the most time with is)my Gamecube:D

I have 1 close friend who is a girl, and she is married. Getting a divorce currently...

She's the only girl that I've been friends with and haven't slept with. And that's only because she is/was married.

Is anyone else like that? In the perfect world I could be just friends with the women I meet, but it always leads to the same place...

Hrm.

yeah, i know exactly what you mean, awesome post. It really bothered me meeting awesome people and then them leaving so soon...but I also realized that maybe they wouldnt have been so awesome if I had known them longer. And you have to cherish those perfect relationships for being just the way they were.

Most of my friends are female, but my two closet friends are male. Ive known my best friend for 11 years and we do almost everything togther, and i have known my other best friend for about 6 years, and we spend just as much time together, the three of us.

I have many girl friends that i usually turn to for girl advice.
