Review: Crystal Method @ The Docks

well i decided to check out the docks again last nite since i haven't been there since seeing eddie halliwell. i didn't even specifically go for crystal method, just cuase i felt like hanging out on the waterfront patio. The docks seems like its finally starting to pick up. It seemed like it got quiter in the top 40 room a lot earlier around like 130 or so, but i was surprised to see how busy the crowd for crystal method was. Personally i didn't know what to expect from them, not listening to them for like 4-5years, but i figured what the hell. So now i know they play breaks when they dj. (not a huge fan, but wasn't to bad. my gf hated it though, she feels like its a buildup thats going nowhere. which i pretty much agree on, cause you feel like it should get more intense then it does)
anyways, the crowd made me laugh, so different from anything i've seen in a long time. it seriously felt like either everyone from system sound bar came here, or all the ravers from 1999 decided to come out of there whole again for this event. it was such a wierd crowd, personally i didn't really like it, i like the guv crowd much better (of course exceptions apply to that comment lol) cause ppl look like they but more of an effort in, opposed to lots of the ppl there looking disgusting, like DO YOU WANT TO WASH THAT SHIRT YOU"RE WEARING!!!! but whatever...overall i'd give the nite a
5/10 i had a good time just hanging out with my gf and some friends, but crystal method didn't really impress me (maybe if they played busy child for old time sake, they woulda though :happy2: )
anyways, on to the real party tonite, for ultra spin 6!!!! my GF has been pumped for this ever since going to ultra spin 5 two weeks ago!!!!

DJ Bruuen - they did play Busy Child.
Well I was at Docks last night just to see The Crystal Method spinning w/a few of my buddies including djelkaydee. Got in free thx to Daniella.
I found TCM's set to be pretty decent, all breaks, and different kinds I think throughout the set. Highlights: hearing Sarah Mcglaclan - Stupid (Hyper Mix) & of course, thier obligatory encore of Busy Child before leaving the stage. Haha its great that they slipped that in!
The crowd was ackward - i agree. Wierd mixture.. But personally it didnt bother me - I was there to see TCM and the crowd was tolerable & non--ish. Also - this party had waaay more people than DJ Hyper did when he spun a few weeks ago at The Docks. It could've been the most packed the "Godskitchen" room has been this summer.
Good job Liam on catching the TCM guys leaving for the limo & gettin your respect :D :D
I saw TCM's Live PA for Decadence @ Guv a few months ago. I think i liked thier Live PA performance more since they play thier own tracks. btw Crystal Method wasn't on during Armin at all that night... I managed to watch the entire TCM live pa & all of Junkie XL's set before armin went on. :P |

| ok, my mistake on saying they didn't play it then, cause i left b4 they were finished. it just didn't seem like the mood of the nite was going to have them play that song...but ohwell...i'm looking very forward to ultra spin 6 tonite...i know nothing really of any of the djs coming since i usually go see the big trance guys, but i'm very curious to see the scumfrog and pete tong!!! |

| nope, i actually had an amazing time...i like almost any music as long as its consistant 4/4, i just don't feel the energy to dance when it doesn't build up to that. |
