Canada, FNC, USA, O-Reily... oh my. (pg. 2)

the CBC should be taken off the air for their biased "national" reporting. A network that is the seed of the Canadiangovernment should not be taking sides when reporting on a story. the CBC has had countless complaints from citizens throughout Canada for their favouring of the Arabs/Pals over Israel in the way they report 'the story', and for their sheep like programming that only mimics the BBC - once again another national farce!

One might expect that in approaching the controversial topic of the Middle East, the CBC would carefully avoid giving even the slightest impression of taking sides. It is all the more surprising, then, to discover that in the very first sentence on its Middle East homepage, the CBC introduces Canadians to a decidedly one-sided version of history:

“Since May of 1948 when the modern state of Israel was proclaimed, the land has had two parallel histories, one for the Jews who control the state and one for the Palestinians whose homeland the nation was built on.”

The CBC thus introduces the topic as a power dynamic, in which Israelis have all the power and Palestinians are a victimized people dispossessed of their land. In this CBC version of events, the Palestinians are the obvious owners of the land on which the Jews run the show.

OF INTEREST: Responding to the CBC's coverage of the capture of Saddam Hussein, a National Post editorial yesterday blasted "yet another example of left-wing, anti-American bias at the CBC" and suggested that "perhaps Canada's public broadcaster should be subject to oversight by a more pro-active, hands-on board whose composition is determined by less partisan criteria."

My friend is a news writer for the CBC's research division and she tells me the department gets both complaints from arabs and jews regarding the conflict. The that CBC has had to censor regarding the destruction of palestine would make your stomach churn. If they showed it, jews would scream "anti-semetism"! I wish the ossociated press had their own network!

And with respect to that quote, Israel WAS built ontop of what WAS palestine...that is a fact. There was no Israel (excpet the one 2000 years ago) before 1948. Palestinians were dispossesed of their land, what do you think happened....they voluntarily got up and said.. "hello jews, come into myhouse, live in it, while i walk to lebenon and live in a tent for 56 years"

hahaha and maybe that board should oversee the national post and its 'unpartisan' coverage

I've bet you they've had a million times more people in support of their reporting, myself and most people who responded to this thread included.

We probably get more American point of view than our own supposed Canadian biased propaganda. And needless to say WE certainly get more American perspective from our news than Americans get from anywhere else in the world.

Do you have proof to back up this claim? Have you ever spent time here in California? Your opinion is a guess on your part. Sad.

Have you ever had fox news? Have you ever really watched it?

I'm not talking about O'Rielly, but the channel in general.

DirecTV, but also I think we get cable stations from nearby US cities like Buffalo that broadcast Fox News. Doesn't really matter though, nobody watches Fox for news, it's more entertainment... kinda like WWE is "real" wrestling.

Again, if "nobody" watches it, how can you judge it?

haha I have been to the united states quite a few times. Never been to California though. Maybe that would completley change my impression of americans. But all the same, America is the most inward looking country i have ever been to. And i have never met anyone from a foreign country who didnt think the same. Go travelling some day go backpacking and see how much people around the world know about your country compared with how little people in your country know about theirs. This is just something i have observed theres no proof, no stats.. just my opinion.. sad indeed and i have one like everyone else.

Yes, i have had fox news for several years, I have Direct TV and it gets every single major network in the US, including the west and east coast feeds for all FOX networks

I also get local buffalo news here in Toronto, and Canadian news as well as Satellite feeds in the Middle East/and Europe

Fox news is by far the biggest joke of them all. Once, the headline news was Britney Spears giving the finger proceeded by a celebrity court dispute. I watch it to laugh

If you honestly think that FOX news is "newsworthy" i truly feel sorry for you.

P.S We canadians probably have more US news channels in our TV than Canadian, yet we still recognize how idiotic the programming is in the US.

You cannot compare CBC and FOX onthe same level, cbc is unprecedented compared to Faux News

For s sake, they have the "terror" level alert thing on their main page...give me a in break
