fixing my technics
View this Thread in Original format

hello all...well i purchased a set of used technics. it there is an issue on the one table where the 33 button does not work anymore. it does not respond back..almost as if you were to take the spring out from a key on your keyboard. does anyone know where i could fix this and if it will cost a lot? thanks in advance.

no replies....a better explanation of my problem is it's just stuck...maybe soda or something was spilled on it...anyway, if i were to take these appart to see if i can loosen up the rpm button...am i taking a big chance? ... like springs or other parts that are tough to put back in place or set?

I'm afraid you're gonna have to use your screwdriver and open up to fix your problem. It's prolly something mechanical...

right...i think the button is just stuck and needs to be popped from the bottom. this requires me to open up the turntable...i just wanna make sure that by opening it up i will cause problems. i don't plan on touching any of the belts, motor etc....just that button

not too hard to replace.

Im sure someone will post the link to the open them up guide.

While you have them open- change all the leds to blue

a guide would be awesome. change the leds to blue? this is just because it looks cooler? ;]

-another question i had...i'm brand new to mixing and would like to learn how to beatmatch. any good guides or tutorials on that as well? the search button revealed some stuff saying to just try it...others said watch videos of djs etc.

OKay, to open it up, click HERE...
General disassembly and Strobe and Switch PCB are the two links that will help you.

For basic guide to beatmatching click HERE....

Man I'm a nice guy.

i checked out the disassembly guide last night, and it seems a little vague on some steps. I believe the first picture shows the black plastic that's under the tone arm. It doesn't say how to correctly remove the tone arm. I see some scrrews, but I'm not sure which one's are to come off. Anybody do this before? Have an idea of how to correctly do so? Or know of a more detailed guide?
Freak
You shouldnt need to remove the tone arm.

Everything for your needs is accesible by removing the bottom cover

Dirk W.
Yea there is no reason to remove the tonearm when dealing with the pitch selector switches. Complete opposite ends of the table.
