I HATE being lumped into a stereotype just because I enjoy a fair amount of drugs.
I've been on average a heavy user for the past 6 years, chilled down alot recently, was caining it when i was 18.
the term druggie is horrible, as if anyone who takes is a gibbering no-hoper like those in trainspotting or requim for a dream
got news for you, in this day and age, you're prolly looking at about a 50% usage in the sub 30 years old age demographic. this obviously varies from country to country, but you'd be surprised how many ppl outside the EDM scene do drugs
i dont condone the drug-related extremes we hear about (of course we cant hear abot whenever nothing bad happens when ppl take drugs, even tho like 80% of those at say a huge party that are doing something, walk out unscathed), but if we want do do whatever, and it has no direct negative affect on other ppl, go for it
i get more worried walking through central london in the early hours of saturday morning for fear of being attacked by a bunch of drunk tossers |
Yes, by all means necessary, I will judge, based off of experience with people heavy into drugs. I guess I'm not supposed to go with MY experience and do what people tell me.

its awesome you went to blueshift. i was gonna go but i forgot to get a presale.
i myself have never done drugs or alcohol. i havent gotten drunk basically because lack of time and money, but i havent tried drugs becuase i have always had really high morals against it. no that im going to be a senior in HS i have learned a lot about drugs and because more than 70% of my HS smokes pot or has atleast tried it, its become more of a normal thing for me and im not so afraid or against it anymore. i wont smoke pot though basically cause i am against smoking anything. the only drug i would ever try is E and thats because i have taken the time to learn about it and from what i have found its generally an extremely safe drug as long as you keep yourself hydrated and dont overuse it. i have learned a lot about all kinds of drugs and i have spent countless hours researching just because i want to look out for myself. i am not really against drugs per say, but i feel that some people use them for the wrong reasons, or use them too often. they abuse the substances and thats what im against. even in the past year i have gained vast amount of respect and knowledge on the subject of narcotics and although they are illegal, some of them are safer than we believe. people tell me im crazy for wanting to try MDMA (ectasy) but the fact is, almost everything the DEA has told amerca's youth and the world about MDMA is just a scam to keep kids away from it. i am still unsure why they dont want people using it, but all the crap about burning holes in the brain and brain damage is all mythical. im glad somebody started a thread like this cause i know a lot of you people would be more understanding and would read my post with more respect and understanding than my peers or family would.
but in general i dont have a big problems with drugs, as long as the people using them are knowledgable about what they are using and know what they are getting into. also that they use drugs with a sense of control. the last thing we need is more people ODing and putting an even worse name on the drug scene than what it already is. |

Drugs are a catalyst for music. I'd be pretty confident that anyone that doesn't do drugs and says EDM is amazing music, euphoric, the whole deal, will love the music many times more after experiencing it with a drug or two.
And on the topic of DJs taking drugs? I dont know about a lot of the big name popular DJs doing drugs, but in the various countries where I know DJs personally, I know that a lot of them drop when they are listening to someone else spin, and drop even more when they do spin. Often times the result is even more emotion in the mix!! :)
And plus, people are so much more friendly when they are toked up on something, do you think? :) |

dont do drugs myself, personally i think their a good and bad think, mostly bad though.
drugs bring in to many muppets to dance music, who only go to dance events to get out of it, if they werent on drugs they would never listen to dance music.
also, the drug scene attracts alot of trouble of authorities aswell which is never a good thing.
but drugs will always be apart of dancem usic, and that will never change so its something you have to live with and get used to. |

Very nice, glad to see others have taken the time to do loads of research and make up their mind by themselves. 10 points :D I did the same, about 3 years of research before I ever touched anything.

Fair do, as I guess I am also basing my views on my experiences. perhaps we could cross-reference our experiences, i have 3 years drug-related experience without actually taking and 6 six years of taking, had around 300 different friends over those 9 years who were/are users, and not a single one of them as landed in hospital, lost their job or had to sell/steal stuff to support their 'habit'. :) |

i just hate ppl like u.i got rid of many friends who were thinking like that.
i was kinda after drugs when i got back in hometown after exams at uni this summer.we were going to parties only to do drugs (i went to some prog parties and i listen to techno).we were talking 24/7 about em and we were planning the next party.it was gay but i think i chilled a bit now.remember my self 2 years ago when i was trying to find money just for the ticket and travel costs for a party and now i dont care about it lol (u know what i mean, its not the 1st thing to find some money for). |
