there are tones of anti semitism for example in france but most of it ,is too small to get to the papers or to the NEWS on television you think anti semitism is only when someone drawing on jewish
tombstones , or when someone burning synagogue. NO! anti semitisim is also when your being cursed becasue your jew or when someone don't want to talk to you because your jew. don't bull me about how can any one take us seriously , that phrase made me so mad don't you think jews learned their lesson when we had 6 milion dead people !?
so cut the crap. |
but your stupid attitude towards france is the same,
FRANCE GAVE OUR SONG 10 POINTS IN THE EUROVISION 2 EYARS AGO!!!!
FRENCH PEOPLE ARE OUR FRIENDS....
:whip:
and....realy......DrUg_Tit0&trancaholic do have a point, you cant go and fight anti-semetism, when you are joining the stupid anti-french wave. you can go anti-Shirak, or i dont know, but blaaah |

This thread is a fine example of hypocracy. You Israeli fanatics whine about anti-semitism (i.e. racism) and then go on to generalize from three French citizens to the whole lot of them - and from France to the entire Europe. Do you really expect anyone to take you seriously? |
I'll repeat myself: France has such a good history of protecting it's Jewish population
If the French were mostly saints as you would like to imply, they did a pretty lousy job protecting their Jews in World War II when they collaborated with the Nazis to have them deported and sent to camps. And no, I'm not stupid enough to buy into the bull that every Frenchman was in le resistance, just like every American was at woodstock '69, s say they were to sound cool.
I gave credit where its due to Scandinavia and Bulgaria for protecting their own Jewish populations.
When a nation has tens if not hundreds of thousands of deaths and blood on its hand, I think the burden of proof is on THEM to show that they're actually decent people...I have little to prove because the facts of history should speak for themselves. |

Exactly what I was going to say. You generalize about a country of 50 million people based on a case of 3 individuals. Besides, there are countless French tourists who went through Auswitz and if I recall correctly, this is the first time something like this happened. With that sort of logic, we can arrive to similar conclusions about the US. Wasn't there a mosque burned there right after 9-11? And there were some insulting grafitti written on a few others. Oh, well, I guess that every US citizen is an anti-muslim crusader then.
As for WW2 treatment of the Jews, I don't think there was a single country that liked them at the time. Britain itself had a pretty strong nazi movement which perished only thanks to Churchil's good leadership, and the US repeatedly refused to accept Jewish refugees, allowing only 250 000 to get in. The scandinavian countries were even worse, Sweden allowed about 10 000 Jews to get in, while in Norway about half were deported to German concentration camps. |
A more apt analogy might be for some American tourists to go to a Native American burial site or the location of some fierce battle/massacre and start harassing and mocking Native Americans. Which of course, hasn't happened and will not happen.
Do you really need me to post pages of pictures and stories from the last year of blatant and rabid Jew-hatred from Europe, or will you Euros finally admit you've a bit of a problem on your hands? Just saying "its a tiny minority, nothing to worry about" is NOT going to take care of the problem! |

| I think France just has a compulsive obsession with graves and swastikas. They did, after all, spray swastikas on the graves of muslim soldiers who fought for France in WW1. They also sprayed swastikas on the graves of Brit soldiers. It's quite an interesting fetish. I blame French video games. |

Whenever there is an anti-semetic attack, it makes international news...
But when an arab is beaten up or called a terrorist(and im sure that occurs WAY more often than someone calling a hebrew a "dirty jew")or a mosque is defaced, it barely makes the local news. |

Care to back up this assertion? From an article today about cemetary desecration in France:
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tm...antisemitism_dc
Note the number of attacks against Jews (135 out of 230 total), and the number of Jews in the total French population (600,000 out of about 60 million, compared to 5 million Muslims).
I will look for the article, but also with similar population sizes in the US (around 5.5 million I think), there were 6 times more anti-Jewish incidents than anti-Muslim.
I don't mean to belittle anti-Muslim bigotry; hate is hate and needs to be eradicated. Desecrating Muslim graves is every bit as despicable as desecrating Jewish graves. But don't go talking out of your ass. |

Sorry, i wasnt only being specific to france, i should have elaborated and included north america in my comments.
I have noticed quite a bit that the Jewsih community plays the sympathy card in almost every little thing that occurs. It is always reported to the media if something as minute as a comment is made about them and if the media doesnt report it, they have an "anti-semetic" agenda.
Im sure in your lovely America that arabs are facing just as much, if not more anti-semetic attacks too.
Even people that might look like them (Sikh's) have been tartetted. |

Heaven forbid we take it seriously, I mean its not like 2/3 of us were wiped out solely because of our lineage 60 years ago.
Some of us take "Never Again" seriously.
"Im sure in your lovely America...."
Once again, a foreigner given a grossly inaccurate (and unfavorable) impression of the US by a bias media in his home country. Do you get all your news from leftist websites, the CBC, and Globe and Mail? Why don't you read some actual statistics, or come live here. You'll realize it ain't so bad, even (especially?) for minorities. |

The concern is not to sterotype the Europeans as all being anti-semitic. You aren't.
However, you are dismissing the core here: The fact of our argument is that Europe has a new problem with anti-semitism.
You are denying the fact that Europe has this problem. We are simply pointing out and saying, Look Europe you have a problem and you better think about ways of dealing with it before it becomes a really big issue.
However, from my experience, and with statements such as yours above, I believe you simply do not recognize this problem. Europe is in denial.
I don't believe it is sterotypical to say Europe is anti-semtic. Just like it is not sterotypical to say USA is obese. Both nations have a problem with their issues, and should do something to correct that persona. It does not mean that everyone in the USA is fat, or that everyone in Europe is. It simply means they have a problem.
At least the USA invented Atkins.. they're trying to do something about their problem....;) |

| When my Jewish friends went to this trip " The Walk of something.. I forgot the name, the purpose of the trip was to go to the camps and such. Well, while in Poland, little kids stood their middle finger to them as they passed by in the buses.. as well verbally assaulted. |
