Well I was really hoping it would not come to this, but I just wanted to warn my fellow TAs about a misfortune I've had. A fellow TA by the username of Xuinn had posted a while back that he was selling some records. After dealing with Xuinn and paying him $79.94 USD back on June 10th, 2004 I still have NOT received the records which I have ordered from him:
- Tiesto - In my memory 4x12
- Holden - Horizons
- Dolby - Psiko garden
- Sasha - Airdrawndagger 3x12
- Parker - Vodka cranberries
I have contacted Xuinn multiple times, sometimes receiving dodgy replies like "sorry, they will be mailed out shortly". The past few times he has not even had the decency to reply. I followed up with eBay and noticed that he is no longer a registered user on eBay. I threatened Xuinn that I would report him if he did not respond and take action and low and behold, he didn't. I have contacted eBay and Paypal. I am out $80 it seems at this point.
Anyway, I just wanted to warn everybody not to deal with Xuinn and hopefully prevent some of you from going through the frustration and disappointment I am going through. Xuinn is a piece of and cannot be trusted.

Im sorry this happened to you mate.
As for why people scam, well being the most notorious EX-scammer on this board, I can just say that people make judgement mistakes and put their self worth value to a dollar amount.
I know from experience that no amount of money is worth the amount of stress you get when you commit a fraudulent act.
Keithos, you wont see your money again. Im sorry to say that. Unfortuantely, you scammer wont have a change of conscience and refund you the money like I did to my victims.
I proposed an idea to the Mods about me typing out a sticky thread with tips on how to conduct transactions on this board, but they havent replied back.

Yeah dude, I know. I just wanted to warn others not to do business with that jerk off Xuinn. The part that sucks is a) I lost my money and b) I "lost" some good vinyls. Sad that people rip other people off. Xuinn will get his/hers... it won't be from me, but what comes around, goes around.

Keithos, I might be able to help you out mate. I have the Airdrawndagger 3x12.

It is actually Steve Porter - Vodka Cranberries (Original/Fretwell Mix) on Nu Republic Records.
He probably just told you he had all of them and took your money and ran. |

| I've been reading all of these posts regarding fraud on TA and on eBay, and truthfully, the situation saddens me. One of the reasons that I joined TA was to be part of a trusted community where I could talk about dance music and buy/sell (mostly buy) records. I have yet to buy/sell a record, and at this point, I must admit that I probably never will now. I'm not going to comment on particular issues because there has been quite enough of that. It's just disheartening that some people actions can ruin a good thing for most. In the end, I really hope that I never read another one of these posts again. Best wishes to all |

I know what you mean. Just to give you a few stats... I've bought approx. 400 records online in the past year, and have had only two instances where people have taken my money (be it for large sums both times). Just wanted to warn everyone about dealing with that prick Xuinn. But in general, I don't see a big problem with buying/selling online. In the future, however, when dealing with individuals on large orders I will Paypal let's say 1/2 up front, and pay the remainder when I receive the records. I've been burnt twice (unfortunately around the same time period too so I couldn't have "learned my lesson" in time to avoid the 2nd instance) but I'll make sure to not have a third time happen (at least I sure hope so).

I bought a record a guy named Xuinn on EBay and things went ok, he also had 100% feedback. You never know though, some people just decide to be a dick and not send your records sometimes.
Getting ripped off sux...I was ripped off for $40 worth of records. Not a good feeling to not see them arrive in the mail and then the ****** doesn't reply when you send them emails.:whip: |
