Hello TA peeps.
Well, after the TA remix competition, I got my butt in gear and produced a new track. Tens times better than my remix entry. I spent the necessary time on mastering and mixdown, than I did on my admittedly messed up remix for the competition.
Yeah, the track name is not great, but I can always rename that.
Here are the track details for those that like them:
File Size: 9.76 MB
Length: 10mn:40s
BPM: 131
MP3 Encoding: 128kbps
Sequencing: FL Studio
Mixdown: Cubase SX
VST's: Pro-53, Absynth 2.0, Triangle II, Atmosphere, FM7, Crystal
Hardware: Aphex 104 Aural Exciter, Alesis Quadaverb2 Effects Processor
The track is breaky, but definitely trance. Great driving beat. A much improvement in my producing, and I really don't know how I did it. LOL. I only slightly question the low end on this mix, but let me know if it came out okay or not.

wooah, flashbacks from 5am last saturday... This track has a pretty damn chunky bass-end, which is its greatest asset. I can't tell if it's clipping or if it's distorted for a reason... but it sounds really good whatever you have done!
some of the other synths are a little bit weak, not sure if it's the contrast with the bass-end or if they just need some more work.
overall a very distinctive tune! |

| Took a listen to this, and the thing that stands out to me is the phat bass breaks. It definitely stands out on its own just on the breaks alone. But one problem I found with the bass was that it seemed to be over-emphasized because there seems to be a clip on it. I'm not sure if this was done intentionally or not, but the clip doesn't sound very professional at all. As for the melody, it just wasn't something I could get into, although I'm sure that's just a matter of personal taste. The other beats seem to mix well with each other, and every else seems equally balanced, but I just don't like the clip on the bass. |
